    1. LINNANE/LEONARD
    2. My maternal grandmother, Barbara LINNANE/LEONARD, b. 1873 Inishbofin, Galway, immigrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1893. Her brother Patrick Colman LINNANE/LEONARD arrived from Inishbofin in 1898. The name on the church records at St. Colman's on Inishbofin in spelled variously, LINANE, LENANE and LINNANE, and perhaps LINNAWN from the Griffith's. I know Patrick married and moved to CT and was there in the 1920 and 1930 census. But I do not have any idea of where any descendants may be. If there are any descendants out there please speak up. Barbara married in Brooklyn and died, a widow, in 1930. I have her descendants. I would like to trace these 2 back to Inishbofin and find out more about the family. Thanks, Barbara

    1. CARSON of Fermanagh
    2. John CARSON and his wife, Ellen REILLY, lived in the townland of Cultiagh (parish - Derryvullan; district - Enniskillen). John is listed in Griffith's Valuation of Ireland 1847-1864 as an occupier of 23 acres. He was the father of 12 children (Philip H., Annie, Bridget, Charles, Ellen, Elizabeth, John, Mary, Michael, Rose, Francis, and Timothy) and the family was Roman Catholic. Most of the children came to the U.S. in the 1880's-1890's and settled in the Philadelphia area. John and his wife remained in Fermanagh. Family stories have me believe that both John and his wife both died shortly after their youngest son, Timothy, left for the U.S. in 1904. I have also been told that to this day there are still members of the Carson family living in the house that was located in what was once known as Cultiagh. John was said to have been a teacher but I have not been able to confirm this. Although I have much information on some of John's children, I do not have any details on his birth, parents, siblings, etc. John and Ellen were my GGGrandparents and I would love to learn more about them.

Charles fits in here somehow. Simon's nephew , my gr-grandfather, JOHN , and his family, wife JANE (ANDERSON) , sons WILLIAM,6, JOHN J.,4, and PAT,1 arrived in March,1882 on the ship Canada, sailing from Liverpool and Queenstown. Don't know where they embarked. Simon's sister (?) MARY KENNEDY, and her children, THOMAS, JOHN, CATHERINE, and BRIDGET Kennedy, and probably others ,were already here, we think. Bridget's son was STEPHEN GLENN, born 1855. She was married to MICHEL JENNINGS, also. My grandfather was JAMES FRANCIS REYNOLDS, John and Jane's son, born here in 1883. His 1st wife was MIRANDA LANGAN, 1889- 1914. Jane's brother was THOMAS ROBERT ANDERSON. Their half sister was MARY GEOGHEGAN, died Troy, 1942. BRIDGET (Walsh)'s ( died 1885, Green Island) siblings were RICHARD, WILLIAM, and JAMES WALSH and SARAH KENARY (or CANARY), all of Troy. JOHN also had a son MICHAEL from another woman, and a granddaughter, ANNIE HAHN, born ca. 1897, NY. John J.'s sons were John R. and Joseph, both NY State Troopers at one time.
