I have little information on this person and am looking for information to triangulate from. His death certificate is for "Edward O'Brien" who died in NYC on May 30, 1900, was married, and was buried at Calvary cemetery on June 2, 1900. This is the true date for his death according to family history although we know him as Edwin. He was married to Ellen Donovan on June 8, 1886 in Morris MN according to newspaper and Church records in Morris MN. He is listed as being born in Ireland, County Cork, and living in Ortonville, MN. Declaration for citizenship is filed in Stevens County MN on July 9, 1884. This declaration indicates that Edwin Patrick came to US via Port Huron from Canada in Oct 1883. His Mother is listed as Elizabeth Alcock according to family history. His Father, John is said to have had 2 wives, the other being Francis Stevens. According to the book, "History of Stevens County", by Edna Mae Busch, P.A, McCarthy, M.R. McCarthy and E.P. O'Brien incorporated their business, "Stevens Co. Abstract and Real Estate Agency in Morris MN. Over aperiod of 7-8 years there are many land sales via this agency dontaining E. P and his wife Ellen (Nellie). They had 6 children, John, Gertrude, Edward, Grace, May (Mary), and Jeremiah Joseph who went by Joseph and was a Chiropracter in New York. The son Edward was a captain of a NYC Fire Department in the 1940's but I aqmnot able to find any inforamtion for him either although it is said his son, also Edward was also a New York City Fire captain.

I am looking for information on George STEVENSON, horse trader, who lived in Coleraine in the 1850s before moving to Liverpool. He married Margaret, possibly McAdams, in Ireland, and their children Robert Alexander, Amos (or Aenneas), Colin, Mary, and at least one other were born in Coleraine and Belfast, in the 1850s. The "one other" was a Presbyterian minister in Coleraine from the 1870s, and lived there in "The Manse House". I would love to hear from anyone who knows of these people, the church, or "The Manse." Hello from Canada. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who had these families in County Cork. I have suspicion that the Dukelow group all came from Creagh, County Cork, but no real evidence. My ggg grandfather PETER DUKELOW came to Canada (date unknown) but I have documentation of his 5 sons being in Prescott Ontario in 1838. It may be that Peter himself came a year or two later. His wife is reported to have either died on the voyage or died previously in Ireland. Her name is reported to have been Mary Connell, but have no documentation to prove it. The other names are those that were married to some of the Dukelow children. Mary Connell's mother may have been a Beamish also. Love to chat with anyone who's interested! Well, a week has passed and we had a number of County Clare roll calls, even I got mine in today...this week will be dedicated to a big county....County Cork, where some of my ancestors caught the ship to New York City. If you have ancestors from County Cork, this is the week for you to send your roll calls...however, all others can also send their roll calls, no matter what counties their ancestors came from...or even those like my Campbells from 'unknown' county. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA, list admin http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton AV2005

Looking for ancestors of my Michael Hennessy, born 1844, somewhere in County Cork. Came to America in 1853 as a 9-year old with his mother, Hannah (Sullivan) Hennessy, and brothers John and Patrick. He was a butcher by trade and living in St. Louis as of 1860. His father was Patrick Hennessy, but have no information on him. Hannah (Sullivan) Hennessy was widowed and then married Thomas Dunn(e), also a butcher, in St. Louis. She had at least two children by Thomas Dunn(e). Any further information welcomed. Looking for the Irish origins and parents of Thomas Hanley, most likely born between 1820 & 1830 in Ireland (possibly County Roscommon). Thomas married Bridget White in Ireland about 1846, as they had a son, Patrick, born about 1847 in Ireland, according to the 1850 U. S. Federal Census for Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bridget was also born between 1820 & 1830 in Ireland. Thomas, Bridget & Patrick were not listed in the Famine Immigrants' series so they probably did not arrive at the port in New York. They may have landed in Canada first, as passage was less expensive to sail there. However, the Hanley's were living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, by 1850. Any information about the ancestors or descendants of Thomas Hanley and Bridget White would be very much appreciated. I am willing to share what I know about their descendants. Dear Listers, Could any of you explain what the letter's A R P and the number's under them mean? I have an Ordinance Survey Map (c1846) of a townland in Wexford. I found my ancestor's name on Griffith's Val, giving the letters ARP with numbers refering to the location of his property on the OS map. I haven't a clue how to find his land. Thank you, Beth McBride Illinois
