    1. McKee, Roddie, Nesbitt
    2. I am looking for info on these families. My 3rd great-grandfather was John McKee and he was born about 1816 in Co. Down. I realize this is vague but it is all I have. I believe that his father was Thomas McKee but I don't have his mother's name. John McKee married Margaret Roddie, who was a daughter of James Roddie and Elnor Nesbitt. John and Margaret had 2 sons, Thomas and George, before 1846. In 1846, John, his wife and 2 sons left Ireland on the ship Helen Thompson which arrived in the spring of 1847 to Canada. Margaret was pregnant with their first set of twins during and after the journey. The family lived in St. Johns, NB, Canada. They also had 3 more children: John, and twins, Ellen and William. The oldest boy, Thomas McKee, was my 2nd great-grandfather. He married a girl by the name of Sarah. I do not know her maiden name. They had 5 children: Inez, Thomas, George, Lily, and Walter. George Ira McKee was my great-grandfather. He married Jennie Bartlett and they had 13 children: Vern, Allie, Thomas, Garfield, David, (twins) Lawrence and Florence, Charlotte, Eva, Laura, Rita, Stella, and Fred. David Emil McKee was my grandfather. He was born 21 Jan 1910 in Calais, Maine and he died 13 Jan 1973 in Houlton, Maine. He married my grandmother, Velma Morrison, in 1928 or so. (They never told anyone their anniversary). They had 3 children: Kenneth, Darleen, and Brian. Their daughter, Darleen McKee, is my mother. Feel free to contact me with any info. Thanks!

    3. My Aunt, Annie Boyle nee McGuire was born in Largybrack, Glencolmkille, Co. Donegal. I'm not sure what year but would guess it to be around 1912-15. She emigrated to New Zealand in 1950 to join John Boyle - I'm not sure if they were married at the time or if they married in NZ. John Boyle was also from that area but had served in the British Air Force during the war I believe. They had two children, a boy & a girl and I think they (or one of them) may have moved to Australia. Annie Boyle would have been my aunt. My Father, Patrick John McGuire was her younger brother. 2. ConnorsGenealogy
    3. > Here is a website where you can search for records: > https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/csi/csi_main.cfm#Counties I posted this yesterday and since have found more info on this website that has me excited. This is a project where they are combining all the records at the various county heritage/genealogy research centres into an index. Eventually, they are aiming to have the complete country in the database. Why is this exciting? Well, if your ancestor was born before 1864 and you don't know the county of birth, right now the only way to narrow down your choices is to use the Griffith's Valuation and the Tithe Applotments, then pay for research a a number of county centres for an initial search with very little quarantee that you have the correct counties. This new service, when completed, will be able to give you some choices. If you are looking for a marriage, it gives the spouses' names. If you are looking for a baptism, it gives you years. Yes, the research can be costly. I have had it done at County Tipperary Family Research Centre. They searched one baptism for about $20 and when I saw it was my family, I then ordered baptisms and marriages for the family going back another generation for about $70.00. I found it well worth the cost. What I would like to see them do next is unify the costs across the centres. You can get an initial search for one record like I did for $20 from one centre and then another will charge $120 which I think is excessive. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by ZoneAlarm AntiVirus

    3. I am looking for information on the Gillick family from County Meath/County Westmeath. Terrence Gillick born 1 Jan 1837, his sister Julia born Oct 1820, and brother Owen b. abt 1830. Terrence left Ireland in 1855 arriving in Boston no records remain. No records found in the US yield any clues to their home town. Known facts: According to his sisters marriage record the parents were named Charles and Mary. Terrence corresponded with two cousins in Ratoath: Eliza and Ross. Two sisters are found there in 1909: Eliza and Catherine, but no connection has been made. They may be the children of James Gillick and Anne Farrell. James Gillick m. Elizabeth Murphy are also found in Ratoath with a son Terrence, but this is not the correct person. A Terrence Gillick is listed in Dunshaughlin but is born in 1858 which is too late. The Meath Heritage Center was unable to locate Terrence in their records. The County Cavan Heritage Center was unable to locate Terrence in their records. The Westmeath Heritage Center found a Terrence Gillick b. 1835 born to Phillip Gillick and Rose Glennon, but no records for his siblings it appears it is the wrong individual. Terrence married Margaret Ann McGee 2 May 1865 in Amador County, California, and they had the following children: Thomas James Gillick Owen Eugene Gillick William Gillick Emmet Gillick Julia A. Gillick Mary Gillick George. L. Gillick Andy Gillick Sarah Rose Gillick Charles Cornelius Gillick John Gillick Charlotte L. Gillick Nellie Gillick Terrences brother Owens war record states he was from Mayne, Ireland, but a search through Eneclann didnt find the family in Dunboyne, or the parish of Dunshaughlin. Oldcastle was checked as well with no records found. Terrence died in California 12 Feb 1906. His sister Julia died in Chicago in 1907. I am truly at the end of line and hope someone might recognize this family. Sandy California

    1. Re:Roll Call Craven / Murray
    2. Hi all, I'm searching my CRAVEN Family. They are supposedly from Roscommon Co...Because so many are from that area. However my grandmother had always said they were from Antrim Co..Anyway,here is all I have which isn't much. James Craven was born about 1835.He married Catharine Murray about 1860 or 61 They went to England as their first born was John Craven born abt. 1862Their second born was James Craven born abt.1864.They then emigrated to New York showing up in the 1880census( name spelled on census Cravin) for Long Island City,Queens County, where they have had already another six children, all being born in New York. Michael Craven b/1867,Nicholas Craven b/1871,William Craven b/1876,Mary C. Craven b/1878,Peter Joseph Craven (my grandfather) born Jan 1,1880.In between somewhere there is supposedly a Thomas that was born. But I don't know for sure. When finding the locations of the Craven name in Ireland it shows heaviest concentration in Roscommon area and 2 families from Antrim area.I know that James Craven had brothers but I have no idea of their names.I believe he died(James) about the late 1890's or so.But he is supposed to have come back to Ireland and died there. My father, born 10/14/1912,the son of Peter Craven & Margaret McKeegan never knew his grandfather,as I understand that he was already dead. And all of my fathers brothers and one sister are also gone, excepting one brother that is in his 90's and doesn't recall anything. So,sorry if this is long winded but if anyone has any knowledge or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated. Denise
