Hi Pat. Thanks for the information on therLennon name. I will check them out. The "Flynn" part is my husbands name. Whilst I was born in England, he is 3rd generation American with roots in Dublin. I know more about his Irish connections than about mine! Regards, Beryl Flynn
My grt grandfather came to Liverpool about 1860.His wife was Mary Hoy /Hoey.They settled around the Scotland area and had a family Michael,Margaret,Sarah,Patrick and Thomas. I would be delighted if anyone could tell me where they came from .Pat Molyneux
I check the Griffith's Valuation which was done ca 1850-52 in County Tipperary and found four Patrick Deverns all in the South Riding. Surname, first, civil parish, townland DAVERN PATRICK, CLONOULTY COOLANGA, UPPER DAVERN PATRICK, CLONOULTY ROSSMORE DEVERN PATRICK, DONOHILL FOILMACDUFF DEVERN PATRICK, DONOHILL GRAFFIN Both Clonoulty and Donohill civil parishes, near Tipperary Town, are in the Clanwilliam Barony. I have done much research in this area so you should check the Tipperary section of my website. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com
I received my great great grandmother's obit. Her name is Grace Davarn, born 20 Feb 1853, died 12 Feb 1913. The obit says she was born in Tipperary County, Ireland and came to Michigan in 1856 with her parents, Patrick & Katherine Davarn. Both Patrick & Katherine were born abt. 1825 - 1826. Grace married Patrick Cosgriff who also was born in Ireland. It may be the Cosgriffs went from Ireland to Canada first and then on to Michigan. If anyone has further information on my Davarns or Cosgriffs I would love to hear it. Thank you, Terri
Hello again. Looking for any information on Patrick LYNCH & Mary CLARK. Born in Ireland c. 1770s. They had Bridget LYNCH in 1792. Bridget married Joseph PATERSON c. 1825. They had the following children: Catherine DOB c. 1833 James DOB c 1838 These three, Bridget,, Catherine & James all went to Coatbridge, Lanarkshire sometime before 1856 as Catherine was married in that year in Coatbridge. I don't know if Joseph Paterson went with them. I can find no information on him & I have tried the LDS site & the IGI but to no avail. In all the records I have of these two familes PATERSON is consistantly spelt with one "T". Any help or direction anyone can give me will be gratefully received as I am butting my head against a brick wall......& that really hurts! I have not been in touch with any descendants of these people but I am sure the line didn't abruptly end. I am also sure The LYNCHES & the Paterson's had more children as they appear to have been Catholic although this is not a religion they all followed in later years. Thanks again for any help with these elusive folk. Maybe they were all leprechauns! Regards, Beryl Flynn

Good Morning Pat & Listers. My "Irish Connections" went from Ireland to Glasgow, Scotland in the mid 1800s, I believe. They settled in Lanarkshire in the greater Glasgow area. On the Scots certificates I have, where it mentions any of them, it just says "born in Ireland". Same with the censuses! No help there. So I am hoping someone on this list will be able to possibly give me directions on where to go & maybe some URLs. Patrick LENNON. Born c. 1825 in Ireland. Parents: Owen LENNON & Mary CAMPBELL. Patrick went to Scotland prior to his marriage to Catherine PATERSON (also born in Ireland c.1833) in Coatbridge on 7 September, 1856. He was a Coal Pit Labourer who died before 1892. I will post the details of the other families in separate emails. ANY help with this family will be very much appreciated as I am just hitting blank walls with them. Thanks very much. Kind Regards, Beryl Flynn
First of all, you mention three surnames that I also have in my family, also in the same branch. I have a Campbell that married a Flynn and parents of Flynn are Flynn and Lennon! My Flynn and Lennon's are from the Cloone area in County Leitrim and my Campbells are from County Armagh. While your Lennon was born in 1825, you have his father's name so I searched the Griffith's Valuation for Owen Lennon, thinking that he might still have been alive when the GV took place 1840s-1860s depending on the county. Here's what I found. Surname, first, Lessor's surname, first, county, civil parish, townland LENNON OWEN HAMILTON HILL ANTRIM SHANKILL TOWNPARKS LENNON OWEN DALY DOMINICK ARMAGH CREGGAN LISSARAW LENNON OWEN REYNOLDS JOHN LONGFORD KILLOE CREELAGHTA LENNON OWEN GRANARD EARL OF LONGFORD KILLOE SORAN LENNON OWEN LENNON HUGH LOUTH DUNDALK DOWDALLSHILL LENNON OWEN LENNON ROSE LOUTH DUNDALK TOWN PARKS LENNON OWEN LEVINS JOHN LOUTH LOUTH DRUMGONNELLY LANNON OWEN FORTESCUE CHARLES LOUTH LOUTH EMLAGH LENNON OWEN GOFF JOSEPH TYRONE CLONFEACLE MULLYCAR I was hoping to find him in Co Leitrim but didn't. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com

Did you know there is a Rootweb mailing list covering Irish American Obituaries? I suggest if you don't want to join the list that you at least check out it's archives because there are many obits posted that give the person's place of birth in Ireland and they just might help you out with your research. I Checked out "anscestorsonboard." Looks ok, but it not free. If you are using US Dollars, you have to convert to EUROS. Oh. Well, someday we can search this kind of list for free. Or maybe this is wishful thinking. I know sites need to be paid for, but I can dream. Hi Pat, According to my entry for 1907-1908 the results come back saying the search is only currently available for the years 1890-1899. They hope to have all records on line by 2008.
