New Orleans Daily Picayune July 1, 1853 CITY INTELLIGENCE Inquest - A Coroner's inquisition sat yesterday to inquire into the causes of the death of Thomas P. Mahon, aged about 30 years, a native of the county Galway, Ireland, found dead in the Circus Street infirmary. The verdict of the jury was that the deceased "Came to his death with a punctuating wound, inflicted with a sharp edged instrument in the hands of a man named Berniard, belonging to the Second District police, on the evening of the 19th inst., cutting the intercostal artery, and producing, between the diaphragm on one side and stomach and spleen on the other side, an effusion of blood of at least sixty-four ounces." --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
