The Freeman's Journal And National Press Dublin: Tuesday, August 7, 1917 Price One Penny LEGACY FOR HOME RULE Irish-Australian Remembers the Cause in His Will An old-time supporter of the Irish National cause, in the person of Mr. James McGrath, late of Barker's road, Hawthorn, died on October 3 last, at the age of 82 years (says the Melbourne "Advocate"). Under his will, which is being administered by the National Trustees' Company of Melbourne, several handsome amounts have been left to a number of Catholic charities of Melbourne and a sum of £100 to the United Irish League of Victoria, the last of many subscriptions he had previously given through that League to the Home Rule and other Irish funds. Mr. McGrath and his brothers, now all dead, were natives of Aughrim Co. Wicklow, and were noted for the keen interest they always displayed in the welfare and progress of the Irish cause. The United Irish League, by special resolution, has recorded the donations in its minute book, and has sent a notification to his niece, Miss Kate Hansen, of Kyarra-road, Glen Iris.
