    3. >From The Cork Examiner, 11 December 1862 - FATAL ACCIDENT AT GLANWORTH RACES.--A fatal accident occurred at Glanworth races last week by which a jockey named John Driscoll lost his life. Six horses started for the first race, and Driscoll, it appears, led on for a considerable distance, till he encountered a formidable fence, and rushing at it with great velocity the horse lost his stride, and breasted the ditch throwing his rider heavily at the opposite side, breaking his neck in the fall, and instantaneous death was the result. He was 33 years of age, and had the reputation of being a sober, well-conducted man. He leaves a wife and three children.--Constitution - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dennis Ahern | Ireland Newspaper Abstracts Acton, Massachusetts | http://www.IrelandOldNews.com - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
