    3. I understand what all of you are saying, and I am sorry you seem to be upset. I thought this was a list to share information. I guess for some we should only share information that applies to them. If it doesn't then there are some who are not interested. Have you ever thought there may be some people who are home bound and cannot get to the library or wherever to get the book? Maybe the sharing done on this list is the main way they get their information. Maybe we all need to have a little more compassion for each other. That's just my two cents, and from here on out I will keep my thoughts to myself. What people need to realize is that the book "Land Owners in Ireland; Return of Owners of Land of One Acre and Upwards in the several Counties, Counties of Cities, and Counties of Towns In Ireland" is a very limited in scope. It is not as extensive a list as Griffith's Valuation, for example. Only a small percentage of landowners had more than one acre. All of the Aherns in Ireland are shown at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~aherns/ahloii.htm#landowners for example and they total 15 persons, or 14 actually as Charles Ahern owns land in two different counties. I would suggest that in future anyone with a lookup request, contact Maryann directly. You might also find that this book is available at a public Library near you. -dja ==== IRELAND-OBITS Mailing List ==== The list arcives can be found by visiting ~ http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/IRL/IRELAND-OBITS.html ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
