Davis, 63, of 903 College Drive, formerly of Rutland, Mass., died Dec. 28 in Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, after an illness. He leaves his wife, Delaine F. (Elliott) Davis; a son, Michael G. Davis of El Cajon, Calif.; a daughter, Shawnon Davis of Milton; five sisters, Gloria L. Gardner, Esther E. Hill, Kathleen R. O'Grady and Ruth E. Wagner, all of Holden, Mass., and Mary L. Carr of Worcester, Mass.; four stepdaughters, Linda, Rex and Carolyn Raybon, Gloria Gandara and Elaine Bodie, all of Milton; seven step-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married July 18, 1971. He was born in Clinton, Mass., son of Harold E. and Katherine (Davitt) Davis, and lived in Rutland, before joining the Navy in 1945. Mr. Davis attended the former Rutland High School and earned a general education diploma in the Navy. He served in the Navy for 26 years, retiring in 1971. He served in Korea and Vietnam during the wars in those countries. He was awarded a Silver Star and three Bronze Stars. Funeral services were held Dec. 30 in Donnie Sowell Funeral Home. Military graveside services were held in Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, Mass. 02115.
