    3. Hi Beryl from Sussex I would be so grateful if you could do this for me. The book that you mention, is it a library book or can you purchase it from somewhere? I'm trying to locate the graves of my great grandparents and some of their family I have been told that they are buried in the Movilla Cemetery. Their names are: John & Martha McMillan Alexander & Margaret Jamison (nee McMillan) daughter of John & Martha James McMillan son of John & Martha (only a few months old) and another James McMillan (also a son of John & Martha) (18 years old) Harry McMillan (son of John & Martha) There could be others but I know these ones are there. Once I have their dates of death it will give me something to work back from. Unfortunately I have no dates to work from however my grandfather was born in 1896 so it would have to have been after this time at least for my grandparents, not sure about his brothers' James x 2. Many thanks Beryl for your offer of help. > > > > Kind regards > > > > Jenny > > > > Brisbane ----- Original Message ----- From: "Beryl Gebbie (BT)" <b.gebbie@btinternet.com> To: <IRELAND-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 27, 2004 10:00 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-CEMETERIES] Movilla Cemetery > Hi Jenny, I am another Beryl from Sussex this time. 3. Hi Jenny, I did not find what you were looking for sorry. Althought saying that I did find one McMillan in there, and as all the people in there came from Newtownards they could be relatives so I will give you those. Also have you noticed that the name McMillan could also be McMillin/McMillian not to mention McMullun. My family name I have found to be spelt three different ways within the family, nice and confusing. The other thing to do is email the Public Records Office in Belfast and ask them where the Movilla Burial Records are, then you could ask them to look at the records for you, because I know they are not at the cemetery as I have been there doing research. There is no office only gardeners and they are quite helpful as they have worked there for years and remember where some graves are, but that is not much help to you. So here is the email address for the PRO in Belfast proni@dcalni.gov.uk they also have a web site http://proni.nics.gov.uk Also another useful site for you is the Belfast Central Library their email site is info@libraries.belfast-elb.gov.uk and their web site is www.belb.org.uk The Public Records Office I gave you above is where you get BMDs from, ask them to send you some forms so when your ready you can just send them off. If you want to know of more places or you get stuck just ask me and if I can help I will. If you do manage to find the dates and graves with the grave number and section I will take a picture for you as I am going over to Ireland in June. The following is what I have found: MOVILLA CEMETERY Erected by David McMillan, senior of Newtownards in memory of his daughter Agnes McMillan who departed this life the 1st July 1843 aged 17 yrs. Also four of his children that died in youth. Also his wife Sarah McMillan who departed this life 16th January 1865 aged 69 yrs. Also the above named David McMillan who departed this life 3rd. May 1879 aged 81 yrs. McCLUNE Erected by Elizabeth McMillan, Whitespots, in memory of her beloved sister Agnes McClune who died 9th April 1860 aged 64 yrs. Also her beloved brother John McClune who died 4th Nov. 1873 aged 68 yrs. McCULLOUGH (Modern black marble stone in a railed enclosure with other stone set in the floor.) Erected by John McCullough, Ballyrainey, in memory of his father, John McCullough who died 6th August 1849 aged 42 yrs. Also his mother Jane Moore who died 4th Sept. 1871 aged 54 yrs. Also his infact brother John who died 20 Jan. 1848. Also his aunt Alice McCullough who died 2nd. Oct. 1871 aged 66 yrs. Also his son John McCullough who died 12th Nov. 1880 aged 6 mths. Also his wife Jane McMILLAN who died 9th April 1909 aged 63 yrs. Also his grandson John McCullough who died 4th Nov. 1928. Also the above named John McCullough who died 19th Feb. 1939. Me not finding them in the book does not mean they are not there. The blerb on the front says the graves are before 1800 to 1864, well as you can see that is not correct. You can buy these books from the Ulster Historical Society, but I believe they are redoing them, bring them up to date. When I find out I will let you know. But before you buy any make sure the name you want is in there. Hope this is helpful Beryl ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jennifer Jackson" <jenni.j@bigpond.com> To: <IRELAND-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 27, 2004 3:31 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-CEMETERIES] Movilla Cemetery > Hi Beryl from Sussex > > I would be so grateful if you could do this for me. > > The book that you mention, is it a library book or can you purchase it from > somewhere? > > > I'm trying to locate the graves of my great grandparents and some of their > family I have been told that they are buried in the Movilla Cemetery. > > Their names are: > John & Martha McMillan > Alexander & Margaret Jamison (nee McMillan) daughter of John & Martha > James McMillan son of John & Martha (only a few months old) and another > James McMillan (also a son of John & Martha) (18 years old) > Harry McMillan (son of John & Martha) > There could be others but I know these ones are there. > > Once I have their dates of death it will give me something to work back > from. > Unfortunately I have no dates to work from however my grandfather was born > in 1896 so it would have to have been after this time at least for my > grandparents, not sure about his brothers' James x 2. > > Many thanks Beryl for your offer of help. > > > > > > Kind regards > > > > > Jenny > > > > > Brisbane > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Beryl Gebbie (BT)" <b.gebbie@btinternet.com> > To: <IRELAND-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, March 27, 2004 10:00 AM > Subject: Re: [IRL-CEMETERIES] Movilla Cemetery > > > > Hi Jenny, I am another Beryl from Sussex this time.
