    2. Patrick Cuthbert
    3. It seems Margaret was the illegitimate sister of the Viscount Clifden and that Patrick's untimely death ended the situation of "gentry", the children having to find employment as Revenue Officers, in the Military etc. This also caused a financial burden for Margaret and she was forced to call for help from her brothers. It seems that they did assist her, financially. The GL of Ireland has records of Patrick at Lodge 524, Powerstown, Co Carlow. It appears Powerstown is not very far from Gowran and it is reasonable to presume that he would have gone there for meetings. There are records of an ARTHUR GORE CUTHBERT who was also a Freemason, at or about the same time. This person cannot yet be fitted into the jigsaw. It is regretted that the English Military seem reticent in supplying data and, even more so, the Grand Orange Lodge who will not lift a finger to identify one who could be construed a Martyr to their Cause. An alternative birthdate is 1755. Lt Patrick Cuthbert. Gentleman. My GGG Gpa. Of Co Kilkenny. Does that help? I have a little more.
