    3. Just subscribed to IRELAND-CEMETERIES. One of the things that I have found when doing research is that there are few cemetery records available. I am tracing my family to five Irish counties--DONEGAL, KILKENNY, OFFALY (KING'S), LIMERICK and CORK. I am especially focused right now on the first three counties. Is there presently or will there be a listing for every cemetery in Ireland? While I know that individuals have researched selected cemeteries, I was hoping that there is a central database for all of them. It would help immensely. Thanx! 3. Unfortunately I doubt very much if there will ever be a local data base of cemetery records for Ireland. There is too much monetary gain for the heritage centers and others who work at this professionally for their to ever be a joint venture as such Thus people will continue to transcribe graveyards wherever they can and unfortunately yet again those books that hold transcribed headstones are generally sold within the parish of that area that the stones have been transcribed in. But giving you some joy I am currently trying to compile a list of graveyards for Ireland but I will indeed have to call upon all those people on this list and several others that I admin to assist in naming what graveyards they have visited and where and what county they are in. As my expertise belongs in Co Wicklow and just over the border into Gorey but I do collect and share what stones I can when I can allowing for the time it takes to find, transcribe and correct it does over a period of time take anything up to 6 months to transcribe a single graveyard in Ireland ..............also allowing that I do most of my transcribing with the rain dripping off the *brim of me nose* and my fingers freezing ......... In Wicklow alone in 2003 I visisted over 200 graveyards so I imagine this would be an unfinished on going work forever and a day.............just taking down graveyard names Limerick has been put to CD by Brian Cantwells son available from Enneclann also his fathers CD on Co Wicklow and parts of Wexford and Dublin has been released. But allowing that you never named your family perhaps someone may be able to assist you simply from their own research or foraging in Ireland . Sorry to be a damp cloud on this but I do see sunshine most times ahead.
