Dear Marlene Hi Laurel Thank you for contacting me so quickly after seeing my message on the mailing list. First of all, you need access to a fiche reader and if so, I can then send you a set of fiche for transcribing. If you access the website http://freecen.rootsweb.com/index.html you will see that the programme INCENS can be downloaded to your computer. There is a tutorial mode on there which is advisable to 'have a go at' until you feel confident about actually transcribing onto the 'Live Mode' programme. I will not go on too much until you confirm whether you have the tools necessary ie. fiche reader access. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you 'on board' our merry band of volunteers. Also, could you let me have your snail mail address if you are joining us.
