Does anyone have a list of the cemeteries in Siligo? I am researching the family name of Morrison. Thanks for any help you could give me. Alinda
Does anyone know of a website that lists all the cemeteries in County Mayo. I'm researching Fadden's/McFadden's and I've noticed they are spread from Achill Island down to Westport and out to Castlebar. I'm not sure where their cemeteries would be for any of them and I thought if there were such a list it would be a great starting point. Thanks in advance Bill McFadden

I agree entirely with Padraig on this - there is only evidence for six Spanish survivors of the Armada in Ireland and they declared they were the only ones. Many more Spanish survived in Scotland. (However the fact that a myth has grown up about Spanish blood in Ireland is itself a phenomenon.) As the topic has been opened again I have been uneasy about a possible misunderstanding of the message sent earlier by Jane Lyons. She drew attention to the phrase "Black Protestant" a common enough epithet in the mutual abuse between Irish Christians but, lest it be misunderstood, Protestants have never been referred to as "Black Irish". There were not enough of shipwrecked Spanish from the Armada to "colour' the blood line - I consider this to be part of mythology. If one checks the archives of Rootsweb IRL-GENIRE-L there was tremendous past discussion on this question. Also try Google.com by entering 'Black Irish". A few years ago I wrote Rev. Healey for info on CARRs. He sent a list covering BIRTHS from 1786 to1881 and burials from 1878 to1913. Each includes a partial address. Also, I have a book ,published 1875, that gives info on several people in New Ross.-schooling, occupations, etc. Our e-mail is pmcdonald@acun.com .
Hi to all - Would anyone out there have the address for the Cullybackey Reformed Presbyterian Church in Antrim, NI? I have relatives buried there and I would like to write to them for some information! Thanks - James C. I just sent the following message to IRELAND-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com Hello - I have a couple of quick questions: If I were looking for cemeteries in Upper Tullans in Derry, how many cemeteries would I find and could someone list them? Can you help --- I am so sorry, but I got on this list and although the "subjects" that show up on the Digest emails look interesting, I do not know how to access further information. Am I supposed to email the particular person and express an interest or what. Worse than that, I don't know how to get back to the place I originally found this digest list to figure out on my own what to do with the frequent interesting teasers. I hope you can advise me about how these Cemetery Digests work or where to go to get the info. Many Thanks, Leslie Kapell
To search items previously posted to rootsweb's lists from the main page www.rootsweb.com click on "threaded archive search" under the List subcategory. It doesn't seem to be working at the moment, so I can't tell you exactly what to do after that. But, I believe you put the list name in, ie. Irl-sligo and then can search by keyword or date. If anyone is searching for someone in Sligo, they really should join the list. There seem to be a lot of knowledgeable people subscribed to it and they're very helpful. Good luck! Anne
Hello fellow reseachers, I'm looking for the surname JOYCE, in particular, William, Richard, Catherine, Bridget and also Margery Cullinan. All other Joyces greatly welcomed. Thanks. Judy
