Hi Dave, Your "hands up" message was great and spurred me on to put hands down to ask if anyone could assist me with further information on my Great Great Grandfather Dr Lendrum WEST of County Fermanagh, Ireland. Information gathered so far: 1847 - Daughter Mary Ann WEST born in Enniskillen. Father Lendrum WEST - mother's name not recorded. (Mary Ann was my Great Grandmother and came to Western Australia in 1865 at the age of 18) 1853 - Daughter Elizabeth WEST born in Brookeborough - Father Lendrum WEST - mother Mary Ann (nee Parker) 1864 - Daughter Amelia WEST born in Brookeborough - Father Lendrum WEST - mother Mary Ann (nee Parker) 1864 Approx. - Griffiths Valuation showed Lendrum WEST leasing a house, office and garden in Main Street of Brookeborough, also leasing vacant land at Tattendillur. A member of the WEST family still living in Brookeborough checked the Parish Register and could not find any other record relating to Lendrum WEST apart from the two births listed above. I have a copy of the Aghavea Monumental Inscriptions and while there are WEST family members buried there - no sign of my elusive Lendrum WEST. So far I have failed to find who were his parents and where he and his family moved to after Brookeborough. I would be so pleased to hear of any snippet of information. Sincerely, Neila Biddle Western Australia
Could someone possibly look up the gravestone for Bartholomew Healy, married to Bridget Tahany. I know that he was from County Sligo, but don't have any dates. However, his wife, Bridget Tahany was born in 1800. They had 4 children: Patrick, Martin(1835), Owen & John. Also, any other suggestios as to how I can pinpoint the location of my ancestors. Thanks, Rita _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
Hello, I'm a new member of the list and I am interested in locating my FRAME ancestors who came from Ireland. Those who have access to cemetery listing would you please look for a John FRAME and a James FRAME in the late 1700's. ok its been awhile so I'll give it another shot looking for any info on BERKERY in particular Edmond, John, Edward, Patrick but would love info on any others (Berkery is pretty uncommon) DUNDON Mary (was married to James Meyrick) would be interested in any other MEYRICK (Merrick) James, (Honora, Bridget, Richard, Patrick children of James and Mary (Dundon) Meyrick) FINAN Nellie (Helen) Finan married Edmond Berkery Kilcommon around 1850? As far as I can tell all came from Limerick, Tipperary, & Cork Also any info on Tower Hill, Limerick (my gggrandmother born there and worked there) Pat Berkery EDS - HPBSS 800 Conneticut Blvd. 3rd Floor East Hartford, Ct 06108 phone # 860-622-4722 Pat.Berkery@eds.com
Hi Pat, I am delighted to finally see something even close to my maiden name Finnin. My ancestors immigrated to Pittsburgh PA in 1852. I found listed in the Republic of Ireland phone books on a trip to Ireland last August the Finnins were predominately in Limerick. So far I have had no help in locating where in Ireland my ancestors came from. My daughter had planned our itinerary & did not include Limerick. If in your research you find my spelling & burial locations please advise me. Hi Dave, I have been lurking for a few weeks, thoroughly enjoy what I have seen but I don't think I know enough about my lot yet to bother people But, if you want us to post here I go. My McLOUGHLIN/CLEARY/ROONEY families originated in Ireland & moved to Lancashire, UK. According to the 1871 UK Census the McLOUGHLIN lot were born in Sligo & I suspect that the other two were also from there. Does anyone have any information on death's etc for the above names around the Easky & Kilglass Parishes? TIA, Anita in New Zealand. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Administration" <list.admin@ntlworld.com> To: <IRELAND-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 9:08 AM Subject: [IRL-CEMETERIES] Hands Up!!! > Hiya everybody, > Hands up those of you who haven't posted a message to the list in the > last four weeks.......... >

In my digging on the Irish end of my Guest family surname, I was sent the following information by 2 separate helpful people: ---------------- St. Kieran's Church of Ireland cemetery, Modreeny, Cloughjordan, Co. Also his wife Elizabeth Guest alias Williams who died May the 27th 18--, aged 63? years. Also his daughter Anne who died Oct the 2nd 1808 aged 20? years. Also his daughter Elizabeth Dagg who died Sept the 11th 1811 aged 28 years. Also his son George Guest who has caused this tomb to be erected. He died - of April 1829 in the 35th? year of his age. Also his daughter Ellen Guest who died March the 19th 1862 aged 92 years." ------------- I'm wondering if anyone has any other information on this Thomas Guest, such as other children or other info. Anything would be greatly appreciated! Mike Guest
Hi Dave and List: Just as too many other American's I'm totally blank on the settings and places of my ancestors, and do a lot of lurking trying to learn more about Ireland. As I recently discovered, most of my lines came from Ireland, and first evidence found in Va. It goes like this: In 1646, The Isle of Bute, Scotland, the Castle Toward was laid under siege by the Clan Campbell's who massacred over 350 of the Clan Lamonts. MARY YOUNG LAMONT fled across 29 miles of open water to Larne, County Antrim, Ireland, with her four sons who took assumed names of: Andrew Young, William White, (both my lines) John Sitlington (who had linen mills on Larne River) and Greene. Andrew Lamont Young mar Mary Adair aft 1646 in Co. Antrim, and had sons John, James, Robert, and Matthew. John mar Annie Houston bef 1695 in Co Antrim and may be buried somewhere there. Matthew Young mar Agnes Lusk, dtr of Nathan Lusk of Co Antrim, Ireland. Robert b abt 1711 in Co Antrim, mar Agnes Crockett abt 1730 in Co Antrim and had James, Samuel and John Young. William White seems to be the connection for my Richard White first found in Loudoun Co, Va. Other collateral names coming from same area are: Lusk, McDonald, McMillan, Keown, Humphrey, McCoy, McCurdy, McBride, Davis, Appreciate anything, and will exchange data with any connection! Thanks for a well run list! Jean <mccoy@gvtc.com>
I would appreciate if anyone could tell me if Elizabeth Filson McClement is buried in Ballyhemlin Remonstrant Presbyterian Church near Glastry County Down. She was born in 1837 in Ballyhalbert. I know she is not buried with her husband Hugh in the USA. Lue Mc Clement Texas __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Send FREE video emails in Yahoo! I have found some burials in 1808 in the Churchyard at Tralee and wonder if someone could tell me which cemetery this would be. One was for Rev. Edward Day, Vicar General of the United Dioceses of Ardfert & Aghadoe, and Archdeacon of Ardfert, buried in his family vault in the Churchyard of Tralee, aged 69 years. The other was for Rev. Edward Day of Beaufort who was also buried in a family vault. I would like to find out more as these are my ancestors and it would be of interest to know if these vaults are still there. Hi Carol Am happy to help but lack the basic requirements ie the 'fiche reader'. Where does one find such an thing??? Christine -----Original Message----- From: carol.barber@bctalk.net [mailto:carol.barber@bctalk.net] Sent: Friday, 18 January 2002 9:09 AM To: IRELAND-CEMETERIES-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [IRL-CEMETERIES] Fw: FreeCensus - Please spend a minute to read Dear All, I hope you will take a little time in reading the following albeit that the subject is a little off topic. I don't know if any of you are aware of a Project which is ongoing to put the English Census, particulary 1891, onto the internet for free access to anyone/fellow genealogists. I hope you don't stop reading because of the word English but as you are aware there is a large population of Scottish and Irish people living in England so it will help 'us' in some way to research possible ancestors living in England during this period. Well, I am the Co-ordinator for West Riding of Yorkshire, and am trying to recruit people to help transcribe the 1891 Census for this project. The tools required are access to a fiche reader and a little spare time, as much or as little as you can manage. You can check out the website at http://freecen.rootsweb.com/index.html to see what is happening if you wish. As I said before, I realise this is a request for the Yorkshire Census but I am appealing to genealogists who would like to become involved in this worthile project. I am a great believer of putting as much information as possible on the internet to enable 'us' to help trace our ancestors from our own homes and free of charge. Please, if you feel you are interested in any way, could you contact me off list. Thank you for taking time to read this message and good luck with all your research - mine also.
