Hi Brendon, I am trying to find my fathers uncle Ernest Douglas Walpole born 18.4.1874 Youghal Ireland, joined the army 17th regiment Ireland and served in the army in England at Sandhurst as an instructor army all his life, two sons George and Ernest both in second world war. He came to Aust. in 1956 aged 82 and cannot find his death or the two boys. Ernest was in the Army in Singapore when it was bombed. Boys were English - if this is not your field forget it. Rene Walpole
I have a book on loan from the library which details the burials at Ballincollig County Cork Military Graveyard from 1810 to 1922. I can do a look-up there if you wish. You could also try these two sites http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx http://www.btinternet.com/~prosearch/ for further research. Regards, Brendan Jones. > Can anyone tell me who holds the burial records for military cemeteries in > Ireland? I am interested in the 1890s. > Thank You
Can anyone tell me who holds the burial records for military cemeteries in Ireland? I am interested in the 1890s. Thank You
Hi, I have just discovered I have a GG Grandmother who came from Ireland. Her name was Mary McCullough. Her parents were David and Lancy McCullough,Farmers from County Antrim. She came to Australia in 1852 as a married person to Archibald Adgey. Any help would be great. Cheers Chris AUSTRALIA
My friend registered me wih you and I have not the foggiest Idea what to do - could you let me know it this is free or what is entailed. My main reason for wanting help is I am trying to find my great grandfather Robert Wilson who died in County Tyrone Ireland in 1854 - his wife was Mary nee Wilson the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Ross. His wife remarried James Porter at Crew Bridge and came from Maghacreggan but the only place I could find near Crew Bridge was Magheracriffin. I am also trying to find if my great Uncle Ernest Douglas Walpole died in Ireland or England. He visited Australia in 1956 aged 82 and said he was going back to remarry we thought Ireland. He was in the Regular Amy for his working life joining up in 17th Regiment there and then at Sandhurst England as an instructor - he was born 18.4.1874 in Youghall Ireland. Could you please tell me how I go about this. Rene

Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London Middlesex > London MX-141 Good morning Van How are things in Cornwall? Thanks very much for the reply. Yes some of these are mine. WINDELL Joseph C. - my maternal grandmother's uncle Joseph C. WINDELL came to Canada from Londonderry in 1879 at age 19 as a tailor and settled in Galt (now part of Cambridge, ON). WINDELL Margaret - Joseph C's wife WINDELL Jean B - could be Joseph C's daughter whose married name was MILNE WINDELL Mary - I believe related to Rev. W.C. WINDELL* from Manvers * A serach with WINDEL with one "L" will get the Rev. and the rest of his family It's the connection between the Rev and Joseph I am trying to sort out back in Ireland. I have been told they were half-brothers but that is yet to be confirmed. When Joseph came to Canada he apparently stayed for a short while with a brother in Peterborough. Peterborough and Manvers aren't that far apart so the Rev and Joseph could well be brothers, albeit half brothers. The others I am not sure of at all. Will need to do some further research. I know Joseph C. had one son, Arthur Jonas, but he had no children Thanks again and have a great day. Murray Jones Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

Looking for where JOHN McGUIRE/MAGUIRE? is buried in Leitrim County, Ireland. JOHN McGUIRE/MAGUIRE would have been born before 1805. Do not know when JOHN McGUIRE/MAGUIRE died, however it was in Ireland. JOHN McGUIRE/MAGUIRE had at least 3 sons - one son, John was born in Leitrim County, Ireland in Dec 23, 1821. All three emigrated to Canada-on 2 different ships. Two of the boys were thought to be lost as sea. The son, John married Hester Bowen (born 1824 in Kings County, Ireland) at Rawdon, Quebec, Canada. They later emigrated to Sauk Centre, MN, where both are buried. Thanks for any help on this......... Patsy McGuire Holland --
