Cara, I hope you'll be able to give me a hand re this cemetery. I have seen on the Internet a posting of names in a cemetery in Dundalk, County Louth. I believe the cemetery is called Castletown? Do you have any information on this cemetery? There is a stone that reads "Julia Campbell", and I'd like to try to find information on this person. I do not know if this is a Catholic cemetery. Any help, suggestions you can offer are greatly appreciated. RE:..."book noted here is called Dublin Burial Grounds and Graveyards Vivien Igoe .." I have the book Dublin Burial Grounds & Graveyards, by Vivien Igoe. It is a marvelous book if one is interested in all of the many, old and historical Burial Grounds found in Dublin. It is not really a book that gives lists of burials, except it does note some persons in many that may have been of note. Very large book, 364 pgs. and general index and perhaps 8X10 in size. I am a member of the Book Parcel Club at Kenney's Book Store & Art Gallery, Galway City, Co. Galway,Ireland. This book was in my last book parcel box. The book is of the highest quality. So if one is interested in purchasing the book, I would highly recommend contacting Des Kenney. I have a link for their website, if anyone is interested regarding inquiry or ordering the book. As said above, this book is very good and deals really with the history etc. of these Burial Grounds and Graveyards in Dublin. It has some very old pictures as well. Not suited for or containing burials that would be useful. Judith >From ILLINOIS, U.S.A. I have a death certificate for David NORWOOD died 23 January 1882 at the Belfast Workhouse. The informant was his daughter-in- law Sarah Norwood of 98 Henry Street, Belfast. He was a Presbyterian. Can anyone please advise me on the following:- 1. If he had a paupers funeral was there a cemetery at the Workhouse, if so are there any records available? I have looked through the Workhouse records of residents on LDS film but records of that period are missing. 2. If he did not have a pauper funeral and his family buried him, would it have been normal practise to have him buried in the Workhouse Cemetery? I would appreciate any guidance in this, Thanks. Reg NSW Australia.
All the books are kept in the graveyard this is still an active graveyard and you will need to contact the cemetery direct for information. Pam
