    1. Re: [IRL-CEMETERIES] LIST ADMINS MAIL PLEASE READ IS IMPORTANT
    2. Helen McCurdy
    3. When I found the website IRL-CEMETERIES my expectation was that I would find ANY/ALL information's relating to cemeteries in Ireland. That would include locations of cemeteries, directions on how to find a cemetery if one was travelling in the country and physically wanted to visit a particular cemetery, also transcriptions/lists/indexes if available as well as information on the state of the cemeteries e.g. whether they are currently in use, abandoned, historical sites, needing funds for preservation etc. In other words as I have stated above I would expect to find ALL information pertaining to Cemeteries in Ireland. It seems to me that if the 'list keeper' is restricted to what can be posted then the list would be incomplete regarding information on cemeteries. If all information's can't be printed would this not result in the need for other 'lists' to be set up posting the information that can't be posted on the site you now have? Listers would be bogged down jumping from list to list trying to gather the cemetery information. Mass confusion. Keep up the good work CARA. I very much appreciate the help you have sent my way. 2. In a message dated 09/12/2004 11:36:44 PM Eastern Daylight Time, cracker@hotkey.net.au writes: now this does not belong on the tombstone list or does it ? no it belongs on here but should when we post to this particular list just make a note that tombstones have been posted to that list Cara, personally I feel information re: the tombstones/ burials/church/cemeteries belongs on one list .The church history, location etc can be very helpul in research, only a small percentager of those buried in a particular cemetery have tombstones. If that is impossible or just too much work, maybe you could arrange for a link to /from the tombstones list to show when there is relevant material on the other. thank you for all the work you do for us:-) Gwen

    2. Beryl Gebbie (BT)
    3. Hi there everyone I am having a problem finding burials for my AXON family. I have been across to Ireland a few times looking in graveyards to no avail. My relations lived in the Ballymacarret area, Thompson Street, Belfast. I am not making much headway. FRANK AXON came across to Ireland in the mid 1800s from Lancashire, He married MARY McKEE and they had several children but so far no burial ground for them. Has anyone on the list come across this name. Thank you for your time. Beryl

    1. McCRYSTAL
    2. Carol Anne McCrystal
    3. My Catholic ancestors emigrated from Co.Tyrone in 1843. The wife, Ann (nee ?) McCRYSTAL and 4 sons left from Londonderry in May 1843. They sailed on the SS ABBOTSFORD I am assuming the husband, WILLIAM McCRYSTAL, left before that. I can't seem to find him on any ship records. The 4 sons, in order of birth are: CHARLES, JAMES, ARTHUR J., WILLIAM McCRYSTAL. If the naming pattern was followed I believe William's father was CHARLES McCRYSTAL. In CHARLES McCRYSTAL (the son of William) obit it said that he was born in the town of Cappagh, Co.Tyrone. That could be town or townland. There is a village of Cappagh that was an IRA stronghold. Is there anyone that could help me find the Obit, Cemetery,Tombstone, Church for WILLIAM McCRYSTAL and his family and that of WILLIAM'S father CHARLES McCRYSTAL? Here are the Stats as I know them: WILLIAM McCRYSTAL: b.6/1804ca d. 12/24/1864 in Illinois ANN (nee ?) McCRYSTAL b. 8/1798ca d.6/24/1878 in Illinois CHARLES McCRYSTAL: b.3/1828 M. 7/16/1848 in Philadelphia D. 3/25/1898 in Illinois JAMES McCRYSTAL: B. 1836ca D. 4/01/1905 in Illinois ARTHUR J. McCRYSTAL: B. 1838ca M. 9/24/1868 in Illinois D. 3/26/1900 in Illinois WILLIAM McCRYSTAL: B. 12/11/1839 D. 7/18/1861 in Walton, Illinois I question: Where they came from in Co.Tyrone Church they attended Cemetery name where tombstone is Is there an Obit for CHARLES McCRYSTAL the father of WILLIAM McCRYSTAL? Thank you for any response. Carol Anne McCrystal

    1. ROGERS/RODGERS-Antrim
    2. Sue Renkert
    3. I am looking for the tombstones of Dennis & Bridget ROGERS (also spelled RODGERS.) I was told they were from Kinnegallaigh (my best guess, based on Great-Grandma's pronounciation), which (if this is correct) is in Glenwhirry Parish near Ballymena. (I have come across a notation that there are Rogers in Glenwhirry Presbyterian Church Cemetery.) Other possibilities for similar-sounding towns are Kinego, Killyman, Tyrone Kinnagillian, Kildress, Tyrone Kinnegoe, Loughgall,(Co Armagh) (It sounded like Grandma was saying "Ginnegal," and she said no, it was not Donegal, when asked.) I have birthdates for their daughter Ann that range from 1832 to 1849. (She admitted lying about her age!) Any help anyone can shed on this search would be Greatly appreciated!!! 2. Cara_Links
    3. Hi Cara, Great to hear from you again. Yes we are working on Brian Cantwell's Memorials of the Dead for Wexford, Wicklow and Dublin. We hope to have this out before Xmas, as we're running a little late on our original plan. So my best suggestion is for your husband to contact us before he leaves to see whether we have finished it yet. If we have I'll get him to bring a copy home with him. Otherwise I'll send it to you once its released. Its a tricky title, as Brian had his own idiosyncrasies (!) which are difficult to replicate properly. What we are planning at the moment is a CD with the images of the books and a structured database to search it. I'm interested in your own CD, and would love to see a copy at some point.
