Hi, I have just subscribed to this List and would really appreciate some help in finding the ancestors of Christopher ROSS who was born in Co. Down in 1835. He enlisted as a boy soldier in the 48th (Northamptonshire) Regiment at Dublin on 9 June 1849 aged 14 yrs 3 mths. In the 1851 Census he is serving at Weedon Barracks Northamptonshire. He embarked for India, November 1858, served at the Crimea and was discharged in India, 12 June 1863. It is likely he stayed in India as the next three generations were all born there.
