    3. Judy is doing lookups via the LDS/FHC British Isles Vital Record Index #2 disk set. These disks can be purchased from the familysearch.org web site or phoning the LDS 800 number in Salt Lake. If you are in a country outside the USA or Canada you should be able to purchase the disks via the FHC/LDS system e.g. UK has a distribution center and I think OZ has one. Here are the URLs for the sites. Take a look at the description of BIVRI2 on the LDS site Familysearch.org http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp click on Order/Download Products /Software and Databases/Vital Records Index It costs $20.00 USA Best deal you will find on the web-in fact all their products are a bargain, I purchase their products whenever a new item hits the field and have no regrets have found many names that I am looking for. 1. Re: [IRELAND] Birth Certificate
    2. Mary Ellen Chambers
    3. Civil birth certificates for both Catholic and Protestant did not begin until 1864. Previous to this you would have to rely on sacramental records of Baptism which the individual churches might have. You would have to know the religion his family practiced at the time. This could be Church of Ireland, Presbyterian, Anglican, etc. Then locate the church nearest to Naran of that sect. If they do not have records for that timeline, you could ask where the records might have been preserved. You might join the Roots Donegal list. Someone there might be able to assist you.
