I am looking for anyone that would have access to the newspapers in these 2 countries. I’m looking for an article on Cecil H Quaintance charged with a murder in June, 1918. I know the family lived at New Sharon before moving to Poweshiek Co. Cecil was only 16 years of age. I would think this would have been in the papers from June 1918 until spring of 1919. 2. srose
    3. Searching for any information on the Iowa Train Robbery of the 1920's. I'm searching to see if there is a family link to my branch of the Phillips Tree. Does anyone have access to any newspaper articles from this event? Was there more than one train robbed by the Phillips men? Does anyone know the names of the Phillips men involved and possibly their parents names so i can see if there is a connection? I don't have any additional info at this time, just family lore that says it was our line. Thank you very much, Sarah

    1. [IOWA-OLD-NEWSPAPERS] 1875 +!- / any county / Zadoc White STEVENS
    2. d.young
    3. Seeking information on ancestor Zadoc White STEVENS, born Danbury, Connecticut 26 Sep 1810. Relocated to Knoxville, Knox County, Illinois about 1855 with his second wife Ann (or Anna) Barnes and five children. Zadoc was enumerated with his family in the 1860 and 1870 census of Knoxville, Illinois. In the 1880 census, though, Ann Stevens' marital status is recorded as "widow." Thus, while Zadoc apparently died sometime between 1870 and 1880 no record has been found of his death or burial. An earlier historian of the Stevens family felt that Zadoc had been somewhere in Iowa away from his home in Knoxville, Illinois. Zadoc was a stonemason and may have been employed on some project in Iowa when he died. Is there any database of deaths in Iowa available? Were there any state censuses in addition to the federal censuses? Is there any other way that Zadoc's presence in Iowa might be confirmed? David Young Harrisburg, PA
