    3. Sherry, I found the following obituary in the Mason City Globe Gazette. GENEVIEVE JACKSON PENDERGRAFT HAMPTON - Genevieve Jackson Pendergraft, 91, died Saturday (Sept. 8, 2001) at Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility, Hampton. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Hampton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. There will be a private burial. There will be no visitation. Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home, 306 Central Ave. E., Hampton, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hampton Library or Hampton United Methodist Church. Genevieve was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Manilla, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Charles Jackson and Grace McEuen. She was raised in Manilla and graduated from Manilla High School. She received a bachelor of music education degree from Simpson College in Indianola. Genevieve was united in marriage to Henry Clifford Pendergraft on June 30, 1934, at the Methodist parsonage in Richmond, Mo. She taught one year in Eldon, Iowa, and 19 years in Mason City. She was a member of Hampton United Methodist Church. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega social fraternity and the Mu Phi Epsilon honorary music sorority at Simpson College. Genevieve was a past member of the Maria Mitchell Study Club, Matinee Musicale and Chapter DZ P.E.O. She was also a member of United Methodist Church and EMP Circle, Hampton Women's Club, Chapter AC P.E.O., Retired Teachers in Mason City, AARP and the NEA. Genevieve is survived by her daughters, Sarah and her husband, John Province, Broomall, Pa., Ann and her husband, Dale Heitland, Hampton, and Lynne Boldt, Ankeny; a sister, Marian Neary, West Grove, Pa.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
