    3. Hello listmembers, I have recently had a bit of a breakthrough in my search for Geneva Ann KRYGER, my grandmothers' long-lost sister! By searching the 1900 Census records on Ancestry.com by first name, I found a Geneva Ann married to a Larkin Sneed (or Sneed Larkin) PACKWOOD. The census record indicates she is about the right age, in the right location, and her father was born HOLLAND (not all that common in Iowa at the time)... so I'm quite hopeful that I've found a lead to one of my most frustrating missing pieces of the family puzzle. The 1895 IOWA Census records also list the family - and while the info doesn't match exactly (as usual), I'm sure it refers to the same family. At the end of this message is the info I've found (names, dates, etc)- now it is time to try to verify or disprove the link! May I please have the help of anyone on the list who can answer the following questions? (1) Is anyone else on the list researching the PACKWOOD family in Iowa in the late 1800s? (2) Does anyone have any info about the Larkin S. or Sneed/Snead Larkin PACKWOOD family? (3) Does anyone have access to any records (other than Ancestry and Familysearch) that would help me find the following records: (a) marriage record for Larkin S (or Sneed Larkin) PACKWOOD? - est timeframe 1889-1891 - in IA - likely Monona Co? (b) birth/christening records for any of their 4 children in the 1890s - hoping that one of them might list the mother's maiden name (c) death record for Vernice Imogene Packwood, female, born est 1894 - likely died before Census was taken in June, 1900? (d) death /burial record for Geneva or Genevia Ann/Anna PACKWOOD - likely between 1900 and 1910 - likely in Monona Co, IA? Below is what I have located - with many thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions you can provide, Kaye Steward INFORMATION FOR PACKWOOD family: Sneed Larkin (or Larkin Sneed) PACKWOOD, white, age 37 (b. est. 1858), born Wapello Co IA,[from 1900 US Federal Census - white male, head, born April 1857 in Iowa, age 43, married 10 years, father born in Virginia, mother born in Indiana, Farmer, Rents land] Genevia Anna Packwood, white, age 22, born Mills Co IA [from 1900 Census - Geneva Ann, white, female, wife, born July 1872 in Iowa, age 27, married 10 years, had 4 children, 3 still living, father born in Holland] (Note from Kaye Steward: I believe this may be Geneva Ann KRYGER, daughter of Peter KRYGER and Sarah Elizabeth STEVENS, born 1875, family living in Ross, Fremont Co, IA.for 1880 Census; dates mean she was married at age 15 or so) CHILDREN Florence Minnie Packwood, white, age 3, born Monona Co, IA (from 1895 IA State Census) [1900 US Federal Census - Florence, daughter, born June 1891, age 8, born Iowa, both parents born Iowa, at school] Vernice Imogene Packwood, white, age 1, born Monona Co, IA (from 1895 IA State Census) (Note from Kaye Steward - this child may have died -not listed in 1900 Census) Wesley Packwood, son, born August 1896, age 3, born Iowa, both parents born Iowa Esther Packwood, daughter, born April 1899, age 1, born Iowa, both parents born Iowa
