Fellow searchers, I am looking for Mary [Shanley] and Charles Sheils. They came from Ireland and married in Ct. The 1860 census shows a boy names Daneil born in 1855 in Illinois. 1855 Ill. state census does not record the family. They do not appear in the 1856 Iowa census in Pottawattamie Co. where they lived from 1858 on. The following counties in the Iowa 1856 census have been transcribed: Appanoose, Benton, Boone, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Davis, Franklin, Hardin, Jasper,Jefferson, Kossuth, Lee, Lucas, Louisa, Monroe, Montgomery, Polk & Des Moines City, Sac, Shelby, Story, Tama, Van Buren, Wapello, Washington, Wayne, Webster and Wright.
