this is from another newsletter I am on the list for Notebook readers may be interested in the following sites and news items: Selected U.S. Naturalization Records, 1790-1974 - Ancestry.com has released an index of naturalization records that will soon become a part of the World Archives Project. New York, Pennsylvania, and California were recently added to the database, which already included South Carolina, Louisiana, Colorado, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts and Maine. Once indexing is completed, the records will be free. For now, Ancestry.com subscribers can search here. Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter had a post about a new map resource. A U.S. atlas was rescued from the trash, and the scanned images of county maps from all 50 states are available at this site. The maps are dated from 1910 through 1914 and provide an interesting look at our ancestors' U.S. locations.
