    3. Lana, I would be most interested in this information if you find anything. I have a Horace Smith Jewell who married Cynthiana A McCullough in Kansas per the 1860 census. She died before 1870 and they had a son John who was born somewhere in Iowa by 1865. Horace is remarried to Phebe Flanagan a wd with three children and is living in Missouri by the 1870 census. I do not know where in Iowa John was born and have not found him after the 1880 census. Horace Jewell may have something to do with this case as they came to Iowa for some reason that I have not found. I believe Horace's parents may have been James and Jane.
