IOWA OFFICIAL REGISTER 1933-1934 BIOGRAPHIES OTHER STATE OFFICERS HARRY C. WHITE, VINTON. -Member of the Board of Control, was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, October 6, 1869, of Irish parents. When he was six months old his parents moved to Benton county and settled on a farm near Garrison. Educated in the district schools, Tilford Academy, and Cornell College, Mount Vernon. Taught school for several terms. Now owns and operates a large stock farm. For many years president of the Peoples Savings Bank of Garrison. Was married in 1894. Elected representative from Benton county in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. Elected senator in 1914, re-relected in 1918, in 1922, and 1930. Appointed a member of the board of control while serving as senator in the forty-fifth general assembly. A democrat.
