IOWA OFFICIAL REGISTER 1933-1934 BIOGRAPHIES OTHER STATE OFFICERS HARRY M. NEAS, SIGOURNEY. - Member of the State Board of Education, was born in Sigourney, Iowa, September 1, 1883, the son of A. M. and Mary Mackey Neas. He was educated in the Sigourney public schools, and graduated from the state university law school in 1906, and has since been associated with his father in the retail lumber business. He was one of the organizers and first president of the Sigourney library board. Served twelve years as a member and seven years as president of the Sigourney board of education and one term as a member of the Keokuk county board of education. Two terms as the sixth district member of the republican state central committee. Married Byril M. Jones, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and he has one daughter, Gertrude Edith. Appointed to State Board of Education in 1931 by Governor Turner. A republican.
