My grandparents came into the USA via Castle Gardens in 1880-1881 from Norway, going directly to Des Moines Iowa, where they lived, raising 9 children. I am still searching for any relatives or descendants from the family of John Andrew Rasmussen and Bertina Lund Rasmussen from Des Moines, Iowa. Bentina had a sister, Mattie Lund Peterson, and a brother, whom I believe was Andrew Lund, or Andrew Peterson. Andrew died in a county home approximately 1940.
