Dear List, I was wondering if anybody could get access to a census earlier than 1880. I found my GG Grandmother Mary Leidal(I think) on Family Search 1880 census and was trying to track what the family record was before that. This is what I found: Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Knudt LEIDAL Self W Male W 27 WI Farmer NOR NOR Mary LEIDAL Mother W Female W 54 NOR Keeping House NOR NOR Ole J. LEIDAL Brother S Male W 19 MN Farm Laborer NOR NOR Burton LEIDAL Brother S Male W 10 MN At Home NOR NOR They were living in Emerald, Faribault County, MN in 1880. Mary's husband John(I believe) died sometime earlier. Note Bertin(Burton) was born in 1870, hence he would be ten in 1880. He somehow had a name change to Johnson sometime after 1880.
