    3. This is the response I got from Helen. She looked up the terms in the dictionary I think. Thanks to everyone who responded. Kathy Boarder--one who is supplied with meals Lodger--one who lives in hired quarters in another's house Roomer--a lodger. They are much the same, but I would suspect that a lodger and a roomer had to get their own meals somewhere else and all they had was a room.
