Graduated from the law department of Drake University in June, 1891, and entered upon the practice of law. County attorney of Greene county, Iowa, for six years commencing January 1, 1900. District judge of the 16th judicial district from January 1, 1915, until elected to supreme bench in November, 1924. Re-elected in 1913. A republican.
