Hi Kathy, Our family has done quite a bit of DNA testing. Both my sons and my brother did the Y-Chromosone test and I have done the female mitochrondrial DNA test. In addition, Family Tree DNA has other tests. I would suggest that you e-mail Family Tree DNA and give them the line back to your great grandmother .... all female? or mixed male to female to female to male, etc? They can tell you what test is available, if any, that will spot the Indian heritage. Haplotype may be the answer, but I am not sure. I ordered the wrong test on my son and then had to pay for the correct test on what we were trying to prove, so be sure to write to them and ask your questions, first. So far we have made contact with several lines of our family based on the DNA matches. It is great! All sorts of new cousins.
