    3. He is buried in Logan Park Cemetery, with an interment date of January 31, 1951. Since you know the burial date, you can order obituaries from the Sioux City Public Library research staff. The cost is minimal, and you can make your request by email at questions@siouxcitylibrary.org. Other contact information for the Library can be found at http://www.siouxcitylibrary.org/ ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Mon, 6 Apr 2009 17:56:08 -0400 From: "Mona Knight" <mknight5@ctc.net> Subject: [IOWA] Look Up Sioux City, Iowa To: <IOWA@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <C08CE679BCD14795BCAE3B6CB4CB918F@MonaPC> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" I wonder if anyone has access to obits or cemetery indexes for Sioux City, Iowa and can do a look up for me? I am searching for the death date of my gr-gr-uncle, TILDEN MAGERS, who was last living in Sioux City, Iowa, in the city directory dated 1947. He was deceased by 1954 when he was named as a deceased brother in the obit of William Magers of Perry, Iowa. I sent for a copy of his death record from the Department of Vital Records in Iowa, but it was returned to me today. It reads: "Your application for a copy of a Vital Record is being returned because (1) the records has to be 75 years old before a niece, nephew or first cousin can get a death or marriage certificate for genealogy information; (2) the record has to be 100 year old before a niece, nephew or first cousin can get a birth certificate for genealogy information; (3) You hold entitlement to the record of the relative that you share a direct blood linage." Yes, I typed it exactly as they did, with the spelling errors. I specifically told them in my letter and on the request form that I did not need a certified copy as this was for genealogy purposes. Any help you can provide me is appreciated. Tilden Magers was never married and died childless and single. I am assuming that he was buried somewhere in Sioux City. He was born August 14, 1876, in Warren County, Illinois. He was last living in Sioux City and working as a "Houseman" at the Martin Hotel. He lived in Sioux City almost 15 years. Thanks.
