I have a Cemetery Book for Brown Twp, Washington County, In.,but doesn't list James or Phoebe. It list couple of their children at Hop Cemetery. I have found at Roots Web where some other researchers have Ruel and Polly as his parents. It has James in 1860 Brown Twp. Washington County,so he would have died after 1860. My Grt. Grt. Grandmother Mariam ( Barnard) Jean died in Illinois in 1880's. Maybe James and Phoebe moved there after 1860. Just a thought. Couple of months ago i started to research the Barnard's, so don't know that much. If Caulkins is my line, would like to research that line also.
