For those of you who do not have high speed or full time web connection, I have put a copy of a book "Richard Wright, Sr. of Rowan County, North Carolina - Four Generations" on my web site. You can click on the link and download it. It is in RTF format so that no virus's can attach. You must have some version of microsoft word in your computer to use it. This will be updated infrequently, the web site is still contains the best data. I have placed a copy in the Rowan County, NC library. You may distribute any way you want, but please do so in it's entirety. All information may be used anyway you desire. All updates and corrections are appreciated. Margaret Charles (b: abt. 1824, KY) married Anderson Pavey in Washington Co on Sept. 26, 1842. She then married David Guy on May 15, 1847 (Washington Co.) The 1850 Washington Co (Jackson twp) census shows (same household): GUY, Margaret, 26 b: KY PAVEY, Anderson 7 b: IN Betsy J. 2 b: IN CHARLES, Henry 23 b: IN They are living next to William CHARLES, 60, b: KY and wife: Elizabeth, 50, and their family (which are probably her parents and siblings.) Does anyone have any information on the CHARLES and GUY families or know what happened to David GUY? There was a David Guy (age 25) listed on the 1850 Fountain Co, IN census (where some of the Paveys and Guys had migrated to from Washington Co.) Was this him? Were they divorced? I suspicion that this CHARLES family may have migrated to KY from the eastern shore and had known the Pavey family on the eastern shore. Can anyone help? Thanks. Marsha IL

I've posted this on other lists and wanted to add it here. I know the Nicholson lines are really scrambled in Washington Co. So if you see anything that you can help me verify below, I would love to hear from you. Several of the sons have marriages not verified. Samuel & Rachel (Perry) Nicholson, NC> Washington Co>Bartholomew Co. Marsha, John A. J. Lowery and George W. Lowery were brothers. Both John and George, along with a sister, Sarah, appear to be born in IN. Their father, John P. Lowery probably migrated from VA, although that trail has been elusive. John was married previously and had 3 known children who would have been half-siblings to John and George. William A. md Margaret Kay, Nancy md Charles Lane, and Elizabeth md Andrew Hurd. John P.'s 2nd wife, Martha/Patsy Onstott also had children - one dau, Orpha Orange md. Samuel Newby IV/JR. URGENT REQUEST!: Now that we are over the holidays, This years is our 350th Anniversary of the landing of the Swartwout family in North America. The name has many variations such as Swarthout, Swartout, Swartwood, Swathwood, Swarthwood etc. We need help in gather lines, pictures, articles, wills, what ever you have stashed in your attic. We would really appreciated it if you shared with us what you had, there a literally thousands of us here looking for our roots, looking for connections. For our 350th Anniversary we need to updated our list of folks out there that are descendants somewhere along the line of any of those variations. We also have a family newsletter that cost only $5.00 per year, a real bargain. Just send it your mailing address. Every day I get e-mail asking me for help. Up here in Canada, there were two brothers that had huge families, all the remains of their descendants are the female sides. All the male went back to the States. I'm am the maintainer of "The Updated Swartwout Chronicles" People submit their lines-ged-coms etc. and I just drop them into the data base. It is everyone's database. Each person is responsible for their own submissions. It is not copyrighted. Kathy kathyhoeldke@sympatico.ca ldyk@hotmail.ca
Hi to list, This is my first post to this list - Is there anyone on this list doing work on the HOSEA family? I believe they were from around the Daisy Hill area. In particular, I am interested in the Violana HOSEA family. Violana was my g-grandmother. She married Willard KENYON in 1891. After his death she married Daniel Webster DONAHAUE - sometime after 1897. Her father was Kendall HOSEA b.?? d.abt 1902 Her mother was Mary ?? b. ?? d. abt 1906 I have much information about the KENYONS and DONHAUES but have very little about the HOSEA family. Would be interested in hearing from anyone connected with this family or who may be researching it. Thanks, Neil Kenyon Salem, Indiana
