Herb, I have these notes. I'll let you figure them out. :- ) I just have the notes, and have not checked them out, since this is not my line. I see that I have duplicate notes on 2 of the children of Joseph, & am not sure which is correct. My only interest in this line was as it connected to the Boling lines of Washington County. I am looking for the family of Thomas Jefferson Marrs, known as T.J. He was born in Indiana, Aug. 8, 1861, unknown location, and died near Dale, Oklahoma, April 20, 1936. His mother died when he was an infant, and his father, Samuel, not too long after. Thomas Jefferson was the youngest of a family of unknown number of siblings. The known siblings were Jack and Anna. There may have been a Frank and possibly another older brother. Anna was much older than T.J., and possibly is the one who raised him. She married a Duncan. At age 26, Thomas Jefferson married Maggie (Margaret) Morris from Williamson Co., Illinois, age 14), and they had children: Burtran F., Mitchell Silar, Clara Ida, Harley Ireland, Rosie, Ora Florence and Jacob Scotland, all born near Bernie, in SE Missouri. Nothing more is known of T.J.' s parents, including his mother's name. Am considering the possibility his father died in the Civil War. We also know that T.J. Marrs was a Campbellite preacher. Can anyone help me locate this family? thank you.- Marilyn Current- MarilynRuth51@aol.com
1. McPheeters family book states that Noah Harvey married Martha Wright (b dec 30 1896) daughter of George Wright and Sarah McPheeters. 2. Madison Twp, Washington County, Indiana Cemetery book shows a Noah Harvey (1896-1937) married to a Mattie Gardner (1896-1980) daughter of Dewitt and Emily Gardner. Seems to be too much of a coincidence. can anyone help? The Washington Township Cemetery records show him married to both Mary King and Polly Price. Unfortunately, when placing their children, he would have to be married to both simultaneously. Is there a book on Guardianships between 1860 and 1870 in Washington County? I see there is one for 1820-1859 available. I am trying to find out what happened to John J. Dunn and his wife Mary. Family stories states that they were moving by wagon from Bullitt County, Kentucky. The story says that both parents died and the children were divided up among families in the area at the grave site. Children of John and Mary Dunn are twins, William Thomas and Charles H. born 1848, F. Dunn born abt 1821, and son John J. born 1853. I am not sure when they died but the children were found in different homes in the 1870 Washington County census. The obituary of John Jefferson Dunn, Jr., at the age of 8 years of age, he was taken into the home of Martin and Emeline Souder and raised as one of the family. All help will be appreciated.
