    1. [INWASHIN] Martin HOBBS b. IN seen in AR
    2. K McGee
    3. I'm searching for information on MARTIN HOBBS who was found on an 1880 census listing for Yell County AR where it showed that he was born ABT 1864 in IN (probably Washington Co.) and was the son of JOHN and HANNAH OVERMAN HOBBS of Washington County, Indiana. There is a SLIM possibility that he married a SUSAN DAVIS on the 24 Aug 1892 in Yell County, AR; but I can't be certain of that. Does anyone have that line? Martin Hobbs, based upon this census record, is the brother of my own ancestor, John Harvey Hobbs. I'd like to find out more about Martin and his father's Hobbs line in North Carolina. Hope one of you can help. K McGee ~~~~ Genealogy: http://home.earthlink.net/~kmcgee03/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cousins

    2. My mother, Marcella Ratts has told me about the race track on her grandfathers Philip Harvey Diehl Jr., farm near Salem, or really closer to Pekin Indiana.  This would have been in the late 1920s as my mother was born in 1918. 1. [INWASHIN] Ratts Pack Reunion (Hooker-Smedley-Voyles-and lots of Ratts)
    2. I just attended the Ratts Reunion in Georgia for 2003 and had a wonderful time. The core group of Ratts relatives are from a common ancestor John Nelson Ratts 1851-1928 but we are all related to Godfried Ratz and Margaret Swicegood 1746/47-1806. I am working on a book to be released at the 2005 reunion.  I am looking for stories and facts on the Ratts family. Also am looking fro descendants that would be interested in meeting with us. I am looking for relatives and stories of Oscar Ratts 1873-1933 an Indiana statesman. Going over my chart, there are lots of Ratts descendants missing from our reunion, I listed a few in the heading. The lines from Godfried that are represented are: John Ratts-1881-1957 and Minnie Hein 1888-1976 Edmund Ratts 1879-1947 and Nancy May Smith 1882-1978 Thomas Albert Ratts 1878-1925 and Ina Tash 1880-1915 and Esther Diehl 1893-1930 >From these ancestors, we gather annually about 30 Ratts and collateral families, I am sure there are hundreds of others. For 2004 we are having a beach party in Florida, but I am looking forward to the 2005 reunion, "Back home in Indiana" This reunion, 2005 will be held in Salem Indiana, the home place for many of the Ratts kin.   If you would be interested in attending this or any other Ratts reunion please let me know.   We will have an Indiana picnic, something that I remember from my early years in Lynn Indiana and many tours to cemeteries and home places. 3. I have been able to determine that the Albert T. Emery that was the son of Samson and M.J. was, indeed, my great grandmothers twin brother. Thanks to all who helped. Apparently, my great grandmother, Alberta, married a man by the name of Taggart or Taggert before she married my great grandfather. If anyone knows of, or can find documentation of this, please, let me know. Also still searching for information on Samsons other wife, Mary Shepherd, a possible 3rd wife, and the identity of Samsons step-son Elmer Blair as listed on the 1880 census. Thank you.

Are you aware the Collings, Richeys & Pigeon Roost Massacre book with over 1000 pages is being reprinted by permission? The Preservation Alliance, Inc. of Scott County, IN has been granted permission to reprint this famous book in hardback form, as nice as it was originally. Plus, they are working on updating from 1980 up to the present with volume 2. Anyone may submit information for the book. Send your snail mail address and I'll have a flyer mailed to you with all of the details or call The Scott County Heritage Center & Museum, 1.812.752.1050 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to have a flyer mailed to you. 2. Amy L Lathrop
    3. It has to be another Samson. Mine was born in 1830 and was 50 in the 1880 census. I suspect that the Albert listed is supposed to be Alberta. She was born in 1869. was does the 9/12 mean? I believe the Julianna family next door is his mother, and siblings. If this is the same immediate family to my Samson "Albert T. Emery b. Sept 25, 1869 d. Nov 20, 1871 s/o Samson D. & M. J." I wonder if my great grandmother, Alberta had a twin.
