I am researching John PHILLIPS and Mary Witsman PHILLIPS who may have lived in Washington County, IN, between 1820 and 1850. The 1850 Wash Co Brown Twnshp census lists him as 67 b VT wife Desiah 65 NY. Their name was misspelled as Corkins. Ruel & Polly are buried in Hop ceme in Brown twnshp. In this same cem I find 3 babies for Mary Jane Woodward and Wesley Caulkins: Diantha E 1848-1852 Nancy Elzina 1860-1861 Samantha J 1846-1852 the will of Jonah Woodward of Campbellsburg IND 1876 names "heirs of my dau Mary Jane Caulkins" I don't find any Caulkins in the obit books I have I hope some of this is of help to you. I need some help in finding the relationship of Joel Caulkins and Wesley Caulkins, b. abt 1829; m. 31 Dec 1846 to Mary Jane Woodward in Washington Co, IN. I find both a Joel and Wesley in the Census for Brown Twp, Washington Co. IN. Later moving to Iroquois Co. Illinois. Any leads or help would be much appreciated.
