I have just finished going thru 12,016 descendants of Richard Wright, Jr adding notations for residences and births from the 1850 thru 1930 census. I have added 779 descendants in the process. The 1900 census was especially useful since it provides month and year of birth. other updates include: descendants of: 1. Lewis Wright/Dorcas (son of Elijah Wright & Susannah Parrish) 2. Isaac Q. Anderson/Martha Mullinix 3. Clayton Wright/Anna Snider 4. Celia Wright/john snider 5. McCajah Wright/Holland Whisunhunt Additional info and corrections appreciated. Ruth, I have an Elizabeth Wheeler born about 1825 to Jesse Wheeler and Mary Polly Little in Washington Co. IN. I noticed that on the 1880 census in Wayne Co. IN that Mark Wheeler's wife's name was Zerilda. Jesse and Mary Polly Little also had a daughter by the name of Cerilda. Jesse and Mary Polly Little were married in Wash Co 24 Feb. 1818 I haven't done much work on my Wheeler line yet. I'm descended from John Jehu Wheeler, brother to above Elizabeth. If I run across anything else, I'll let you know. Let me know if you want a family group sheet for Jesse and Mary Polly and I'll be happy to send what I have. Ruth, I did not find any Hoover or Hover names. The only Wheeler named is one C.E. Wheeler who was shown as a witness to the will of Joseph B. Shanks, written June 28, 1895. I only have the abstracts for Washington Co, so they might be in an Illinois record. Would anyone have a copy of Will Record G covering the years 1893-1902 for a Flora Sinex? Thank you. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
Antoinette, I don't have information on whether Flora Sinex had a will or not; however, in the Abstracts of Wills of Washington County, Indiana 1808-1902, Abstracted and typed by Miss Lulie Davis, with with the Washington Co. Historical Society,in 1971, I found the will of Thomas Sinex mentions Flora as his wife. According to this volume, the wills covering the period Flora Sinex died (per your post) would be recorded in Will Record G, covering 1893 - 1902. p. 92-93 Thomas Sinex of Washington County, Indiana Date: May 17, 1870 Probated: September 19, 1870 Recorded: Will Record C, Pages 604-606 Wife: Flora Sons: Thomas H; William G.; Elisha W, and Albert, deceased Daughters: Jane Woodville (eldest); Maria L. The Annual Allen Family Reunion The Annual Allen Family Reunion for descendants of Amos Milroy Allen (1886-1961) and his wife, Ida Zolula (Blankenbaker) Allen (1887-1969) will be held on Sunday, Father's Day, June 20, 2004 at the Hindsboro, Douglas County, Illinois Village Park. There is a playground for the kids and shade for the older folks! This date is a change from the usual last Sunday in June, to allow for several of us to attend a special Stewart Family Reunion in Scottsburg, Indiana on Sunday, June 27, 2004. Amos Milroy Allen, mentioned above was the son of Riley S. Allen and his wife, Catharine "Katie" (Stewart) Allen. This Family Homecoming in Scottsburg is a gathering of Stewart and related families who have recently become acquainted over the internet at the James Stewart website. I am researching John Deremiah Sr. who was born ca 1744, enlisted at Fort Pitt in 1777, who received land in Hardin Co., KY, and lived there by 1790. He married widow Mary Ann (Ashby) Rude on 18 Aug 1791 in Hardin Co., KY. (Does anyone know who the John Deremiah was who married Hannah Ashcraft in 1789 in Hardin Co., KY?) In 1810, John Deremiah Sr. and his wife Mary Ann lived in Grayson Co., KY, per census. Between 1810-1820, John and Mary Ann moved to Washington Co., IN. He applied for his Rev War pension in 1819 and appears as a head of household on the 1820 census. Mary Ann was alive at this time, but must have died between 1820-1830. On the 1830 census, John Deremiah Sr. is living with John Deremiah Jr. Would like to make contact with other Deremiah researchers to compare notes. I descend from John Deremiah's wife Mary Ann (Ashby) Rude and her first husband Jesse Rude. --Helen Graves

Hello List, I am working on the genealogy of a group of pioneers in Parke Co IN who are buried in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Florida Twp. These include Hiram CATLIN and his wife Mary. According to the database of early marriages at the Indiana State Library, Mary's surname was GUITTE. I've looked on your web site and on Ancestry, and I can't find another person in the state of Indiana with the surname Guitte. This couple was married November 28, 1822 in Washington Co IN. Hiram Catlin was from Washington Co KY previously. My main purpose is to find a family for Mary Guitte in Washington Co IN if at all possible. If anyone is interested, I can send more information on this family. The community where they lived in Parke Co came to be known as Catlin's Station, because of one of their sons who had a railroad station. Later it was just called Catlin. The purpose of the community was to act as a hub for the surrounding farms, selling goods via the rail road. There's not much left any more. In another matter, there will be a tombstone restoration workshop at Mt Olivet on Saturday, May 22 from 9-3 PM. Helen Wildermuth of Stonehugger Cemetery Restoration and Mark Davis of Stonesaver Cemetery Restoration will conduct the free workshop. Signs will be posted from Rockville, the county seat. Helen and Mark are working on 30 tombstones during a two week period at Mt Olivet. More information available if anyone is interested. Sharon Mills Morgan Co IN

My 3rd great grandparents were William S Walker & Louisa (nee' Leffler) Walker. William died in 1898 and Louisa died in 1892 ~ I have obits stating both ~ ~ now the problem is, although they are shown in the 1850, 1860, 1870 Indiana census husband/wife in the 1880 census "they" are not shown but William is shown with wife Susan and of course daughter Nancy (she never married, lived her entire life caring for her parents). The "writing" of the name Susan cannot be mistaken as a possible "Louisa". No other name has been known for Louisa although I have seen her shown as Eliza in one instance. Why would she be Louisa in so many census' but Susan in the one?? Does anyone know whether Susan may have been her true given name and she had only gone by the possible middle name of Louisa? Or did the enumerator hear wrong, write wrong, or ?!? Can anyone help me with this? Thank you for taking the time to read this. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
