    1. Rink or Rinck family in Washington Co. Indiana
    2. Mary Harbinson
    3. I am searching for any information from about 1840 on with my Rink line. John Peter Rink and his wife had children, Eli, Lawson, Sarah, Eliza. They were in this area for quite some time. I am trying to find any cemetery info on any of them John Peter is buried in the Meyers cemetery, but I do no know where his children are buried. It appears they were in the Daviess, Jackson , Vigo, and Carr, , Plainville, STeele Township through 1900. Any help on information is most appreciated. I am new to the list and am not familiar with any of the cemeteries in the area. I am not finding searchable ones on line to help. All help is most appreciated on this family. Other connections to the Rink family, Bennett, Barnett, Cummins, May, Willcut, Nantrup, Hoover, Bordan, Kern, Mallett, Denton, Crow, and the England family is connected to the Killion line, John Peter Rink's mother was Mary Margaret Killian/Killion, several of her brothers and her son John came to Indiana about 1840 time frame. John is buried in the Meyers cemetery, which is connected to the Killions I believe. Thank you so very much. Mary Rink Harbinson Richland, Washington

    3. Kay, thank you so much for typing this up. I enjoyed it immensely. I have some of those names connected to my family history also. The SELLERS & LITTELL'S intermarried and seems I have Boss connected with BAKER and and these connect with ROBERTSON ~ ~ and WYMAN'S connect to KERNS/CARNES ~ I have a KNOTTS line but have no information on that except my 3rd great grandmother was a Patsy KNOTTS married to Frederick WAUGHTEL ~ I have a family history website at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~waughtel/index.htm in case you find anything of interest to connect to your "story". Nevertheless it was very "moving" to read of the times back then. 3. --=======7006478======= Content-Type: text/plain; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-70B31956; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit My apologies to listers from out of state. Please hit your delete button. For listers who live and research in Indiana, there is a golden opportunity to increase our access to public records and to expand on a patron-friendly atmosphere that exists at the Indiana State Archives. For several years Dr Alan January, State Archivist, has been Co-Director of the Indiana Commission on Public Records (ICPR) with Connie Hume and Judge John Newman. The ICPR is the agency which creates and/or distributes state forms and documents. The State Archives has been part of this agency for a number of years. Governor-Elect Mitch Daniels will select his candidate for ICPR Director. As a long-time volunteer at the State Archives, I feel comfortable suggesting to you that you consider an email to Governor-Elect Mitch Daniel's website on behalf of Alan January's candidacy. That website is: http:///www.mygovmitch.com/nominate.asp Besides including your personal information, you will need to include the following: Dr Alan January 5638 N Delaware St Indianapolis IN 46220-3018 317-253-4071 ajanx2@excite.com Under Dr. January's leadership the volunteer program has grown from a handful to more than 40 volunteers working to make Indiana records available to Hoosier researchers. Several databases have been made available on-line, and I believe several more would be on-line quickly under Dr January's leadership. Researchers could request copies of documents the existence of which is currently unknown to them. The State Archives has vast collections to pique the interest of many. I sincerely believe much progress would be made if Dr January were Director of the ICPR In a day when access to many vital records is being legislated away, let's take a positive step toward disclosure of public records to which we can have access.
