You are right, the piece said that the maid upset because she worked one day a week for the ESKEW family at a daily rate of 8 dollars which 1 dollar was held for social securtity taxes,For a period of one year this arrangement went smoothly until the maid Mrs Loraine Dixon was told by a worker at the social security there were no unemployment compensation in her name at the office only three weeks prior to the shooting, the maid became upset and brooded for the three weeks and purchased the Belgain pearl handled revolver for 30 dollars at a local pawn shop,She took it with her to dicuss the taxes on the Saturday morning of the murder. She was invited in the study by Mrs Eskew to discuss the matter when an disagreement took place,She accused Mrs Eskew of not turning over the witheld tax money to the government. She shot Mrs Eskew in the neck and the woman struggled to her feet to flee when the maid fired again hitting Mrs Eskew in the back. At this same instance Mr Eskew entered the study and struggled with the maid for the gun,It was dropped to the floor and the maid fled to her own home in Evansville where she was arrested 2 hours later. Its reported a third shot was found in the wall directly above the body. The maid was seperated from her husband at the time of the shooting and her boys ages 6 & 8 were taken to relatives in Henderson Ky. Her signed statement included that she had indeed intended to settle the matter on Saturday. Mrs Eskew was sadly dead on arrival at the hospital. - ---------------------------- This is the follow up story I felt that it may not have been of interest to some so I omitted it and typed up the breif obit abt Mrs Eskew's murder.
