I have in my possession copies of portions of my gggrandfather James Patterson White's diaries. He was a farmer and official Warrick County weather observer for over 40 years. He recorded in his diaries the weather, births, deaths, and local events. I have never been able to find any of the original diaries, but was fortunate to find the newspaper clippings from the Boonville newspaper that featured a series of excerpts from the originals. I do have the original diaries of James' son Jesse and James' granddaughter Alma. The White family lived in the Degonia Springs area. I plan to from time to time re-type for our list, portions of the diaries in the hope it will help other researchers.
