    3. Boon Twp History Boon the central and largest township in the county was one of the earliest settled. Its first resident was Ratliff Boon first representative of Warrick County in the legislature and later congressman serving a part of one term as govenor. In honor of Mr Boon the township was given his name, Among those settlling shortly after Boon were Hudson Hargrave,Joseph DeForest,Wm Webb,Edward Baker and Jacob Johnson. -------------------- Anderson Twp History Anderson Township settled in 1805 by Bailey Anderson in honor of who it was named. Among early settlers were Solomon Vanada,Wm Briscoe and Joseph Arnold. ----------------- Campbell Twp History The Township which lays in the western part of the county was named in honor of Thomas Campbell a man much esteemed by his fellow citizens and on whom was bestowed various offices of trust and honor. It is claimed that John Luce was the first settler of Campbell Twp but no authority goes to prove that claim Isham West,Joseph McDonald,and Phillip Miller located in same vicinity soon after settling of Campbell ---------------- Greer Twp History Richard Greer located in Greer Twp in 1825 and its from him that the twp derived its name. Larkin Birchfield was also an early settler in 1827. Joseph Fields and George Taylor were two early settlers. ------------------- Hart Twp History >From Associate Judge of Circuit Court John Hart is how Hart Twp derived its name. James Hinman settled here in 1814. Elijah Boyd,Charles Morgan and Henry Hopkins were three early settlers in Hart Twp also ----------------- Lane Twp History Was named in honor of Gen Joseph Lane whom once represented the county of Warrick in State Senate and has a national reputation as a Mexican War veteran,And was Govenor of Oregon and a candidate for Vice President of the U.S. on the Breckinridge ticket in 1860. First settlers were Daniel Cook,Jasper Hanby,David Whittinghill. --------------- Owen Twp History Organized and named in honor of Robert Dale Owen The first residents in this twp were families of Phillips and Gentry.Matthew Gentry settled in 1822 he a ex county commissioner . ---------------------- Ohio Twp history >From broad and rolling Ohio River does Ohio Twp get its name. The twp first settled by John Sprinkle in 1803. Early settlers were John V Darby,Gaines H Roberts,Felty Hay. - ----------------------------- For those who know all the twp 's in Warrick Co I did forget Pigeon Twp.
