November 20, 1886--Warrick White comes to live with us until he is 21 years of age. January 10, 1887--Took sleigh ride to Uncle Thomas Adams. May 3, 1887--Lizzie had a jenny mule. May 26, 1887--Mr. Sturgeon's house burned yesterday. September 1, 1887--Fan had a colt yesterday. September 23, 1887--Went to a reunion of the Blue and the Gray. October 2, 1890--I was elected president of FBMA October 12, 1890--My sow had her little pigs, seven in numbers. November 5, 1890--Formerly a United Presbyterian, tonight I joined the Old School Presbyterian congregation. November 16, 1890--Attended dedication of the Chrisney Presbyterian church. December 23, 1890--G.W. White (his son) and T. B. White (his half-brother) shipped 304 pound of poultry. January 17, 1891--This morning did nothing, this afternoon piled it up. March 9, 1891--Building ash hopper today. March 10, 1891--Cut the last tree--except my shade and fruit trees. May 24, 1891--Baptizing at Rocky Branch--71 baptized--estimated attendance 3,000, the woods was "just alive with horses, wagons and buggies." June 6, 1891--Finished 3,100 neck yokes. July 4, 1891--Attended Tri-State Fair at Evansville. August 17, 1891--Old Jin kicked Mr. Bivens, the saw mill man. August 25, 1891--Had three poplar logs sawed into fence pickets. September 13, 1891--Monroe Roberts bought a buck sheep. September 14, 1891--Mrs. Condit's house burned. October 8, 1891--Went to the Boonville fair and after I came home I killed seven cats. We had too many. We have four left, enought for any house. October 13, 1891--Mr. J. W. Covey and Mr. Baldwin of Oakland City here last night, and this morning we bought a washing machine of them, price $7.00. October 22, 1891--Wash's (his son, George Washington White) young mare ran away hitched to a cart. November 6, 1891--G.W. (his son) and I made cider; the women picked the geese. December 12, 1891--Rachel (his wife) visits old lady McClintock at Patoka. January 2, 1891--I went to Boonville on the sled. June 3, 1892--School commencement at Baker's Chapel. September 13, 1892--The largest rain I ever recored in 12 hours, it being 4.75 inches. March 17, 1893--Mended my 30 year old sled. September 4, 1893--John Roth, William White and I started to Chicago to see World's Fair. September 9, 1893--Rosa our daughter, Dr. T. Wright and his wife, Myra Gwaltney and Mary Atkinson went to the World's Fair. October 4, 1893--Family went to Brother T.B. White's birthday annivarsary, his 44th; 45 big and little there. December 31, 1893--This closes my 34th year of keeping diary. I never failed for a single day to write except four years ago as I was too sick to write for about five weeks. I have a complete record of rain for 18 years. Have been the weather observe for 11 years.
