I never take other people's info as gospel. What you receive is just a guide to find the truth. I try to get as much info as possible and then start looking for myself. I know for a certainty that some of the LDS info is incorrect. Also some of the DAR info is incorrect. All these files were submitted by individuals to join these groups. So it all depends on how careful the person doing the research was. Some of the research was hired out so the researcher wasn't that careful. The only sure way to do it, is to document everything if your are serious about your family tree. Anyone can be kin to dukes and earls, but it takes a real person to be kin to a horse-thief.
