Sat Oct 3 1885 On the 52nd birthday of Mrs Abigail Floyd wife of H C Floyd of this place who is now in his 66th year A few of their friends took them by surprise And came in on them with precious gifts And tables in abundance , We give below the names of those present P Ketcham of Campbell Twp now in his 87 th year L W Warner and family Hiram Chappel and family Nathan Chappel of Oakland City Miss Dolla Shrode of Eby Shelton Gentry and wife and grandaughter of Pike County Sat Oct 3 1885 Deaths On the 28th at the residence of Dr Travis Scales at 1 o"clock Mrs G J Roth aged 28 yrs 9mths after an illness of abt A week of congestion of the brain ,The deceased was the Daughter of Wm C Smith of St Paul Minn formerly Of this place ,Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. The funeral for the son of Dr W G Ralston took place this past week. Oct 10 1885 Saturday Mrs W C Smith will return to her home in St Paul Minn Accompanied by her grandson Gussie Roth ,Mr W C Smith could not Attend the funeral of his daughter because of his absence in the forests Of St Paul Minn. Mr Frank Roetzel and family of Rockport was called to Boonville To attend the burial of his brother in law W L Becker. Mr Charles Becker proprietor of Huntingburg Marble Works Was also in attendance upon the funeral of his brother Louis Becker. Mr Wm Ludweig Becker died on the 5th of October at his residence In Evansville aged 40 yrs 2 mths and 8 days. The deceased was the brother of Wm Becker,August Becker ,Jacob Becker of this place And Charles Becker of Huntingburg.
