"...genealogy without documentation is mythology." Gilbert, Is the above quote original with you? This sounds like one of those deathless quotes that will live through the ages (in genealogy, anyway Cookie, in Florida).

The error found in the pioneer web site was submitted by an individual. This is one of the reasons to be very careful when receiving information from anyone and taking their word as there could always be a mistake. Remember to always document the event yourself as genealogy without documentation is mythology. This includes the information going around about the surname of Sarah the wife of William Skelton. A lot of people believe it is Scales but no one has shown the documentation yet. The only proof of this would be a marriage recorded in either government records or family bible records. Until then Sarah's last name is unknown.
The death date I have in my files for the judge is 22 Dec 1856. Gilbert

All children were born in Indiana according to the record I have. Perhaps the first Marion died young & a 2nd child was given the same name several years later. Theophilis was a son of Benjamin Leslie (1755-1820) & an unknown wife; Benjamin was a son of Peter (1731-1804) & Susannah (Walther) Leslie. And Peter was a son of Pieter Lesle who came on the ship Allen in Sept. 1729, see http://www.ristenbatt.com/genealogy for this database. Theohilas K. can also be found on the LDS Church's genealogy website at http://www.familysearch.org/ if you boot it up. LMK if I can help you further.
In the Warrick County web site, under the heading "Society of Indiana Pioneers", we have Judge Zachariah Skelton's death date as Feb. 10, 1856 but he signed his will Nov. 19, 1856. This doesn't prompt a lot of confidence in the information contained in the website, or maybe the judge was a very gifted individual.

Can anyone tell me anything about Hudson School? I think it was located on the south side of the Boonville-New Harmony Road, just east of where the present-day office of the Squaw Creek mine is located. My father, Wilburn F. COOK, and his sister, Inez COOK (later m. George GENTRY, b. KY), attended there for a little while. Was this a county school? A township school? Who funded it? Any idea of the teachers' names at various times? How long did it last and when did it open and/or close? Any information would be appreciated. Cookie, in Florida
