That is that--this Jefferson- (there are more than one) Hall married Catherine Youngblood in Feb 3- 1822. I have recieved replys to my query that states that Jefferson Hall married Catherine Youngblood Sept. 1, 1853. They must be wrong. In the indexes of Warrick county marriages-page 104 they list "Hall, Jefferson m Cordelia Barnes-1 September 1853 By John Lacer, Min., Page 354" That was his second marrige. I am trying to find out more about this first marriage to see if he lists his father and mother's name. I am not arguing--but if the records show an error--it should be corrected. carneyc

She married John McClary about 1816, and had 5 children: Thomas, Robert, John, Elizabeth "Betty" (who married a Stevens), and Minerva (who married John B. Kelley). John McClary died about 1838, and we have seen a document with Thomas Hudspeth signing a bond for the care of the minor children. Margaret later married a Whitman, who ran the Farmer's Hotel in Boonville (it stood across the street North of the Elk's Club -- there is an optometrist's office on the site now). Mr. Whitman had some disease - maybe Parkinson's - that caused him to tremble; the family called it the "Whitman jerks." When Margaret died, 20 April 1872, she was buried at the cemetery at Spurgeon IN (Pike Co). She was buried as Margaret McClary, because her children paid for the marker. This is from notes that my mother, Margaret Hart Robertson, took from her grandmother, Margaret Frances Kelley Goad, who was the daughter of Minerva McClary Kelley, and the granddaughter of Margaret McElheny. The name is spelled McElheny in Mother's notes. I am glad to see your information about Mr. Whitman, and will add it to ours. Sorry, but we don't know where he is buried. Maybe someone else will have more information.
Dear list friends; It seems like every ROBERTS has a Cherokee relative, but now i'm climbing another family tree. M.FISHER is the father of my ggrandmother, LOUISA FISHER, b. 1853, but I cannot find Louisa's mother -- whol may have been the Indian relative in my ROBERTS line. Louisa's mother was not A.HODGES FISHER even though A.HODGES was the mom of Louisa's brother, WM. FISHER b. 1843. So, Louisa's dad, M.FISHER, must have had another wife. Who? Do any Fisher descendents have an idea about another wife? I have a photos of Louisa Fisher Roberts if that will help anyone. Thanks, Jeny

I am interested in your Rachel Bell. What information do you have for her? My husbands Bell family was in Warrick Co. from the early 1800s and my theory is that all the Bells there in that era were related. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Martha Bell May: I posted an email for you a couple of days ago on a link you had for Joseph Daugherty/Rachel Bell's daughter,Ida Mertle. I don't remember if this was the address i used or not.If not, please get in touch with me. I have info on their ancestors. They were first cousins...their mothers were sisters. I've got the family back to Va. There is also a descendant of Josephine (Pheny) who I have found in Texas. He grew up in Warrick Co.,close to Chrisney. I am related thru Joseph & Rachel's mothers' brother. Looking forward to hearing from you. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

I had went to the Warrick County Courthouse last August and had added some of the information I found into my family tree in hopes to make connections with some of my mother's and father's in laws. My aunt on my mother's side married a Bell from Warrick County around the 1940s. I won't give individual information because they are still alive and I don't have permission to use their names. The information I got at the courthouse was: Descendants of Joseph Daugherty Generation No. 1 1. JOSEPH1 DAUGHERTY was born in KENTUCKY. He married RACHEL BELL. She was born in KENTUCKY. Child of JOSEPH DAUGHERTY and RACHEL BELL is: i. IDA MYRTLE2 DAUGHERTY, b. May 2, 1880, DAVIS COUNTY, KENTUCKY. Notes for IDA MYRTLE DAUGHERTY: Information found at Warrick County Courthouse, Indiana - Birth by Court Order. Vol 2, Page 292, additional information, 5th child, no information of midwife or doctor.
