But did find a mention of Barnett Chapel Cem at the library,So all is not lost.. Welcome Dennis, I have seen a reference or two to EDRINGTON on the list. Silas was a Justice of the Peace in Warrick Co per a marriage I had posted that took place in Warrick Co on July 3 1842 by Silas Edrington,JP. I had also seen his name linked to a Mrs RAIBOURNE.She was the daughter Sophrnia (or close to that spelling) of Silas 's daughter with Elizabeth Fisher. Someone had posted this previously.I did not keep the original post. I have seen many a FISHER pass by me So I can not pin down info that would help right now. Again Welcome. Thanks for the kind words. By some miracle we are back home safe, with no damages. Thanks again Cookie, in Florida
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dennis Fisher and I live outside of Chicago, Illinois. I have been working on my direct line for about 15 years. My direct line includes William Fisher from DuBois county (father and mother lived in Breckenridge Cty Kentucky). Two of his brothers and one sister moved to Warrick County between 1830 and 1840. They are James M.C.(married Sarah V. Robinson, Warrick Cty 10/18/1832), Morman (married Agnes Hodges Warrick Cty, 5/7/1838 and Dicey Gentry 3/2/1850) and Elizabeth Fisher (married Silas Edrington Warrick Cty unknown date). I just want to say hi, and look forward to interacting with this group.
Some of you may be pleased to know that the Robert B. Cook family in Florida, which left town under a mandatory evacuation order, has returned. We came back about 6 PM, Wednesday, 9/15/99, to find our home intact, except for a few palm fronds on the ground. The streets were messy looking from limbs and fronds that had been blown down by the high winds, but very little damage was visible. I heard there were a couple of houses about three blocks from ours that had had trees fall on them and crash through the rooves (I don't believe I've ever had the opportunity to write thast word before - rooves) I drove by my brother's home and my nephew's home, both within two blocks of mine, and saw no visible damage. It's good to be back home. Cookie, the Wazirian; Bob, Sr.; Cookie, in Florida, etc..
Warrick Co Cemetery Forum is now available on my first page of the cemetery lists. I recieve so many queries from persons who are not on the mailing list asking abt a particular SURNAME, I forward email addresses to put people in contact with others looking for that surname, So I thought a forum was in order, I tell everyone to subscribe to the Warrick Mail List. It is easy just leave a message with whom you are looking for in Warrick County and others who read it will be able to contact you directly, I test ran this forum several days just to make sure there are no glitches,It has proven to work quite well and it is easy to do. I removed the guestbook that was on that page due to so many complications from that server..So if you signed the book you may want to leave a new message in the forum.. I had tried to purchase a copy of the 4 bks cemeteries by Patmore & Stanley, They sent a lovely note explaining that they were all gone and no reprints are expected. They did send a list of some other Bks still available if anyone is interested please email me, Its most likely this list was not meant for buying material...Tamara Warrick Co Bks 1900 Warrick Index Census Warrick Marriages 1860-1940 Warrick 1820-1830-1840 census Warrick Obit Index 1850-1900 Warrick Obit Index 1900-1915 Warrick Misc-Divorces,Wills,ect... There were also 4 vol. set of books of cemetery inscriptions done by Kristine Manley and Sharon Patmore that was done in 1991 Bev
The latest grave reading project in Warrick was published in 1991. This was done by Lantaff and Trapp, two local women who have done others of this type of work. I'm sorry to say thought that Glenda Trapp has since died. These readings were check against the one before done in 1940 and differences are noted, such as markers no longer there and moved cemeteries. While doing the research on my cemetery list starting in 1997, I found that some cemeteries were moved in that six year period and some "you just can't get there from here" anymore. That is one reason to request a cemetery check from me if you are coming from out of town for this reason. It can save you some time and effort and might get me a burger at Hardee's if we meet. I'll check the stacks at the local libraries soon for other references and list them here. Gilbert
I am the webmaster of the Warrick and Posey Cos. USGenWeb Project pages. I also own the mail list from each county at rootsweb. I have been a resident of Warrick Co. since 1980 and worked in the county from 1976 as an EMT then Paramedic for Warrick EMS, retiring in 1989. My days are now devoted to various subjects of interest. My ancestors of Warrick are the Hunt line from Muhlenburg Co. KY. They were the founders of Huntsville KY. Over in Posey it's the Schmitt and Koch line from Alsace Artolsheim and Zornheim Germany. Another maternal branch is from the Henderson Co., KY area. I'm happy to see all of you using the mail list and also knowing a lot of valuable information has been exchanged here. Gilbert
Many years ago the Genealogy Library in downtown Indianapolis on West Ohio Street had copies of Mr. Dillingham's work. It was a great help, but his work was done twenty-five or thirty years ago. Nancy Lynn

In response to Cookie's e-mail: I too would be interested in knowing the where abouts of the Dillingham records. He had access to the White Diaries during the 50's and I would love to read more of the diaries. I believe it was Gilbert (Gilbert, please correct me if I'm wrong) who told me he thought he heard Dillingham's daughter inherited them. If anyone else has a clue, please let us know. Also, Cookie good luck weathering that monster of a storm headed your way!! Cathie Meek Flower Mound, TX
Did any of the other names I sent you look familiar? I know Eville is a big place. You were born, William Cook. Is Cookie your nickname? What is your birthdate? Keep in touch. klaryse INone of the other names rang any bells. No, I am Robert Cook (Bob(, born Jly 20, 1928 in Deaconess Hospita;, Evansville IN. William W. Cook (Bill), is my older brother, born in Evansville (at home on 6th st between Gum & Chandler - now of Welborn Hospital, I think) on April 23, 1921. Six months out of the year he lives 2 blocks from me on the oceanfront. The other 6 months he lives up on the side of a mountain in Waynesville, NC. Hurricane Floyd is forcing us to evacuate, we're all packed and ready to go, so I'll say, "so long," for awhile. I hope I'll be back on in a few days. Cookie, in Florida
Several years ago there was a man in Boonville (Tom Dillingham), who had copied all the tombstones in the county.Do you know where his records might be? It might save you some work. Cookie, in Florida
I got an email from Jesse Barnett in Evansville and Gilbert from ? that said the same thing. Stripmining seemed to have taken the whole town. How very sad and unfortunate. Both of them gave me specific directions on how to get there. I can't praise the internet enough. You meet so many helpful people that all have a common interest. Gilbert even said he would scout out the area if he knew we were coming to see if the roads are all still accessible. Gilbert must live in the area. Where do you live? [email protected] Subj: Re: [INWARRIC] William Sherman SKELTON, Stanley Ind Date: 9/13/99 8:22:18 PM Central Daylight Time From: [email protected] To: [email protected] The address in the book says to take Highway 61 north of Boonville to Fletcher Chapel Road, turn left and go 6-7 miles to cemetery on the right side at the corner of CR 600W. There has been a lot of mining in that area in the last few years so I don't know if you can still get there that way. I will ask around and see if anyone knows the best way to go now. If I find out anything I will send you an email. Bev I
